Thoughts:  Let me just say that I had to give myself some time to calm down before I wrote this review.  While I was aware that this was a ‘Part 1’, I still expected – I don’t know – some kind of a conclusion between parts ‘1’ and ‘2’ or something warranting two ‘parts’.  To be honest it is more like a serial just with only two sections.  Literally, it is simply like someone taking a book, ripping it in half, and then trying to sell you the ‘sections’ individually.  Needless to say, I was very seriously ticked off when I got down with this section.  Honestly, it felt like I read just enough to get me really good and into the story and then ‘BAM!’, finished!  Right smack in the middle of a scene and lights out.  The end.  I mean, are you serious?  Are you kidding me?!  I seriously had a rant after I finished.  I actually had to track my husband down just to complain to him about it – comparing my feelings to us watching a movie only for them to go lights off right smack in the middle.  I mean, the frustration!  (sigh)

Overall, it is a pretty good romantic suspense, and I will say –reluctantly – that I definitely plan on reading ‘Part 2’.  Once my initial rant was over, my next move was securing the second part of this.  I will say, however, that it makes no sense that they pushed this book as ‘Part 1 and 2’ – why not just one novel?  I definitely felt like breaking it up was totally unwarranted.  Getting off my rant, though, I felt like it was a decent military themed romantic suspense.  A little overdone with not too much to make it really stand apart amongst all the rest of this genre, but a good, bare bones starting point that I can see developing into more.

Fair warning though – be prepared when starting this as you are left completely out to dry at the end.
