Author Interview: Roni Loren + giveaway

We want to give a warm welcome to Roni Loren. Her new book Melt Into You comes out this month and beware it will melt your pages or e-reader. She writes these fabulous erotic romances that make you want more of her stories and the heroes!

TBRG: Thank you Roni for being here today!

RL: Thanks so much for having me! šŸ™‚

TBRG: Who has been the biggest influence on your writing?

RL: I donā€™t know if thereā€™s been one influence I can pinpoint. Probably at the origin of it all is my mom. Sheā€™s always been an avid reader, so she passed that love of books on to me. And when I told her in high school that I wanted to write, she was completely supportive. Even now sheā€™s still my biggest cheerleader. So if I wouldnā€™t have had that support behind me, I probably wouldā€™ve never attempted to write anything.

TBRG: What is the one thing your readers would be the most surprised to know about you?

RL: Hmm, maybe that Iā€™m super quiet and not the stereotype of what people think of when they think ā€œerotic author.ā€ Most people who know me in real life were pretty shocked to find out the genre I was writing. : )

TBRG: Where is the one place you have always wanted to go, a place on your bucket list?

RL: Oh, so many. My parents always took us on beach vacations, so Iā€™m usually drawn to the mountains or cool climate vacations now. Iā€™d love to visit the Pacific Northwest. And abroad, Iā€™d love to go to England.

TBRG: What was the first romance book that you read?

RL: I probably read some YA stuff that I donā€™t remember, but the first book I remember reading a real love scene in was the Flowers in the Attic series by V.C. Andrews. Those werenā€™t really romances–they were pretty tragic. But the romance parts imprinted on my brain.

TBRG: Who are some of your go to authors, and what are you reading right now?

RL: In my own genre, I love Maya Banks, Shayla Black, Lauren Dane, Eden Bradley, Tiffany Reisz, Joey W. Hill…so many lol. My TBR pile is out of control. Right now Iā€™m reading a m/m romance, Collision Course by K.A. Mitchell

TBRG: If you werenā€™t writing and keeping us in books (thanks for that by the way), what would you be doing?

RL: šŸ™‚ Before this I was a social worker, so Iā€™d probably being doing something in that arena. Though Iā€™d still be writing, even if it wasnā€™t a career. I canā€™t seem to stop doing that, lol.

TBRG: What is your guilty pleasure?

RL: Reality shows. I love competition shows like Big Brother and Next Food Network Star. Oh, and I heart True Blood. Though I feel no guilt about watching that one. šŸ˜‰

TBRG: Who is on your playlist when you are writing?

RL: I usually listen to a lot of rock–both 80s and recent–so bands like Foo Fighters and Staind are mixed in with Def Lepard and Motley Crue. šŸ™‚ But since I just finished a book about Grant (a cowboy), Iā€™ve actually been listening to a lot of old school country while writing. I have very eclectic music tastes.

TBRG: Where do your ideas/characters come from?

RL: I get ideas from everywhere, usually when I least expect it. For MELT, the idea for plot was weirdly tied to me wondering what would happen if Dr. Phil was gay–would people still take his relationship advice? And then the idea for Evanā€™s faux relationship with Dr. Dan came to me.

TBRG: Are you a planner or a fly by the seat author?

RL: Iā€™m a pantser. Iā€™ve tried to get more structured with each book so I donā€™t write myself into a corner, but itā€™s always a struggle. Iā€™ve had the best luck using screenwriting techniques and mapping out the ā€œbeatsā€ of the story.

TBRG: How did you come up with the Loving on the Edge Series?

RL: The idea for CRASH INTO YOU is what came first. Then I realized as I was writing it that this could be a series centered around The Ranch, the BDSM resort in my books. Plus, Jaceā€™s character in CRASH turned out to be one of my favorites and I knew I had to write his book next.

TBRG: Tell us about the series?

RL: The series is BDSM erotic romance and is centered around The Ranch, a BDSM fantasy resort. All the characters are linked in some way, but each story can also standalone. And each book has a complete romance so no cliffhangers. šŸ™‚

TBRG: Tell us about Jace and Andre the heroes in Melt into You.

RL: Jace is the good times guy on the surface–always has a joke, heavy on sarcasm, and easily gets attention from women. Heā€™s also a dominant so is comfortable being in control. But underneath all that, heā€™s actually a pretty wounded bad boy (my favorite) who carries a lot of guilt about the past. Andre is Jaceā€™s best friend, also a Dom, and a cop. But he has his own secrets that heā€™s keeping too. šŸ™‚

TBRG: Tell us about Evan their heroine.

RL: Evan thinks she has everything in control in her life. Sheā€™s had a rough life and now feels like sheā€™s setting up a stable existence–even though she knows the man sheā€™s marrying is gay. But her whole world is flipped when she runs into her first love, Jace.

TBRG: Using 5 adjectives describe Jace and Andre.

RL: Sexy, dominant, wounded, confident, and loving.

TBRG: Using 5 adjectives describe Evan.

RL: Tough, practical, kind, loyal, and sarcastic.

TBRG: The next book in the series Fall into You comes out next year, can you tell us about it?

RL: I actually just released the blurb for that one. Itā€™s about Grant, the owner of The Ranch, and a tomboy sports reporter that finds herself on the wrong side of a bad guyā€™s radar.

TBRG: What are you working on now?

RL: Iā€™m starting on book four, CAUGHT UP IN YOU, which will be about Kelsey (from CRASH) and Wyatt (Jaceā€™s brother.)

TBRG:Ā  We want to thank Roni for coming on today and talking about herself and her book Melt into You.

Thanks so much!

Her first love has returned, and he’s brought a friend…Ā
After running away from home and the boy who broke her heart, Evan Kennedy has kick-started the perfect new life with her celebrity fiancƩ. So what if said fiancƩ prefers guys? She knew the deal when they got engaged. And with her ticket to The Ranch, an exclusive resort where any fantasy can be satisfied, she can find someone to fulfill her less-than-traditional desires on the side.

She just never expected that man to be Jace Austin, her old heart-breakerā€”all grown up, hard-bodied, and holding out a collar. She knows itā€™s a world-class bad ideaā€”especially since Jace has brought along his buddy Andre, whoā€™s every bit as irresistible. But if they can stick to the no-strings rules, so can she.

Too bad Jace has never been so good with rules. Evan is convinced ā€œforeverā€ is a word used only in greeting cards, but Jace and Andre have one last fantasy of hers left to fulfill. Itā€™s time to go big or go home. And neither man has ever been a fan of going home.Ā

I’ve heard amazing things about MELT INTO YOU, so this is great! (And I just finished COLLISION COURSE myself, it’s pretty cool…and with sex scenes that’ll make even the most jaded m/m reader melt, yowch!)

I have been wanting to read this series, so thank you for the giveaway! Whenever I read a bdsm romance, I think it’s the D/s relationship that I find is so interesting.

I’m reading Crash into You at the moment and is probably my first ‘proper’ BDSM book. The writing is great and the characters interesting.

I like erotic romances/bdsm books because the couples in them often have a deep and intense connection in and out of the bedroom that drawls me in. Everyonce in a while I want to read something that gets to me way down deep in more than one way!
