Bed of Roses

Bed of Roses

Bride Quartet bk 2

Nora Roberts

When I started reading romance books it was because I loved watching two people fall in love, and also the relationships that the characters have with others, and I have to say that Nora has never disappointed me.

Florist Emma Grant is finding career success with her friends at their Vows wedding planning company, and her love life appears to be thriving. Though men swarm around her, she still hasn’t found Mr. Right. And the last place she’s looking is right under her nose.

But that’s right where Jack Cooke is. He’s so close to the women of Vows that he’s practically family. But the architect has begun to admit to himself that his feelings for Emma have developed into much more than friendship.

Jack and Emma I think may become two of my all time favorite characters. Both of them are very secure in who they are as individuals, and when they begin to make the switch from friends to lovers I loved every minute of it.

I have always had a thing for all the hero’s in Nora’s books and Jack definitely doesn’t disappoint. He is comfortable in jeans and work boots and is a suit and tie. He has worked for everything that he has and takes pride in it. He values his friendship with not only Del but also the women in Emma’s life as they have formed their own family with Del and Jack as the brothers.

Emma comes from a family that has always shown its love and support of one another, and whose parents have an amazing love story of their own. When she puts the move on Jack and then they begin to move their relationship into a new direction it makes for a really great romance.

One of my favorite parts of Jack and Emma were the emails between the two of them as they began to change the direction of their relationship.

One of the best things of this series I think is the relationship between Emma and the other members of Vows and also the relationship between Jack, Del, now including Carter and a friend of Del’s Mal that becomes part of their inner circle.

This is one of those classic fun romance books where there are no bad guys, just two very ordinary people falling in love and all the ups and downs that comes with it.

I give this book a 5 out of 5.
