Can’t Let Her Go by Sandy James

Title: Can’t Let Her Go

Series: Nashville Dreams Book #2

Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Sandy James

Genre: Romance, Contemporary

Blurb: In Nashville the music is louder, the dreams are bigger, and love can bring a cowboy to his knees.

Ethan Walker is Nashville royalty. Born to the King and Queen of Country Music, he’s spent his life trying to escape the spotlight of his parents’ fame, even walking away from his own promising singing career. He’s the kind of cowboy who prefers flannel to flashbulbs, hay fields to hit records, and the solitude of his horse farm to the nightlife along Music Row. The last thing he wants is attention, especially when it comes from country’s latest star…

Chelsea Harris’s meteoric rise up the charts and string of celebrity boyfriends mean that wherever she goes, the paparazzi follow. A duet with Nashville’s favorite son is exactly what her new charity album needs, but when she approaches Ethan, he turns her down flat. To win the camera-shy cowboy over, Chelsea will have to approach him on his terms. Trouble is, the more time she spends on his farm, the more Ethan wants to keep her there.

Thoughts: This was a sweet little country romance, with a Nashville singer emphasis.  Chelsea, a star in her own right, is trying to pull together an album devoted to charity.  Her hook?  Songs with the grown children of country music legends.  Ethan is the son of the King and Queen of country, and she wants him for this album – unfortunately, Ethan despises the spotlight.  Even when he finally begins to give in for the feelings for Chelsea, his issues with fame and the spotlight are major hurdles in their romance.

Chelsea is a sweet girl, who patiently tries to get Ethan to see things her way, but she’s far from the manipulative girl Ethan tries to paint her to be.  Their romance was sweet, if a little bit predictable.  Definitely a good pick, if you’re looking for romance with something a little country thrown into the mix.

Rating: B
