Dare To Love by Carly Phillips

19377619Title:  Dare To Love

Series:  Dare to Love Series Book #1

Author:  Carly Phillips

Genre:  Romance

Blurb:   When it comes to family, Ian Dare gives his all but in relationships he offers the bare minimum. Until one glimpse of sensual Riley Taylor arouses his dominant and protective instincts. He will do anything to possess her … and does. But any future with Riley must include him dealing his half-brother who is a constant reminder of the pain he’d rather forget.

Riley Taylor believes herself immune to domineering men – until charismatic Ian Dare turns a simple kiss into an all out assault on her senses and she discovers she likes his brand of control in the bedroom. As their affair heats up, they soon realize they complete each other in ways neither imagined. But Riley’s past is closer than she cares to remember, and her struggles with Ian’s dominance might just cost her everything.

Thoughts:  Apparently I’m behind the times in not having picked up this series before, and having heard so much about it I decided I simply had to give it a try! (After all, it has been reviewed twice on the site before, once by Danita and once by Heather – both times with an A rating!) So, when I was offered up the chance to review a few books from her Dare series, I jumped at the chance – particularly as I have never read Carly’s works before! (Yeah, I know – crazy, huh?) And honestly, I enjoyed it….but I did find myself a little conflicted – after all, most people raved over this book, and as I said my fellow bloggers both gave A’s to this one. Myself? I didn’t quite like it that much. I would rate it a B, personally. I didn’t feel like there was anything that really set it apart and pushed it into that A/A+ level for me. It will be interesting to see how the other books in the series go.

Rate:  B
