Have you ever read a book, where you instantly fall in love with the hero, and wish that you were his heroine? That is almost how I felt with Cole in Marie Force’s latest book.

Everyone loves a hero. That’s the problem.

Hero pilot Cole Langston is learning to live with—and enjoy—his newfound fame and the rabid female attention that comes with it until a lucky punch knocks some sense into him and opens his eyes to true love.
When his copilot suffers a heart attack in flight, Cole lands the jetliner in a blizzard and revives the stricken captain. Catapulted to national hero status, Cole has more women vying for his attention than he knows what to do with. They all have one thing in common: they try without success to bring this happy-go-lucky pilot down to earth. Then comes an airport altercation, a punch to the face, and the lovely Olivia—a shy, timid artist who does what no other woman has ever managed to do: steal Cole’s well-protected heart. With women coming on to him everywhere they go, Olivia struggles to believe that Cole is ready for a committed relationship. His biggest problem is getting rid of all his extra ladies before the only one he wants figures out that she’s one of many.

Cole has been nicknamed Captain Incredible because of his heroic efforts during a flight where the pilot had a heart attack. Months later all he wants to do is get on with his life, and then he steps into help a girl and gets a concussion for his troubles. When meets back up with her a couple of months later he knows that there is something different about her and wants to know more. He convinces her to go out with him the next time he is town, and then to spend the week-end with him. The rest is as they say history for him, as he falls completely in love with her.

Olivia hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to men, and is a closely guarded twenty-seven year old, working on a degree in a field that she hates because she thinks it is what she is suppose to do to provide a stable future for herself. Let alone it makes her miserable. Having Cole come into her life has flipped it on its axis and she begins to make subtle changes in her life, changing her degree to what will make her happy, and most importantly letting Cole in.

Like most of Marie’s books, the conflict when it arises comes from very real places in each of us. Not quite trusting enough, having to discover who we are really supposed to be, not the person we are currently.

This is very much a book about a journey, it is more Olivia’s journey than Cole’s as he knows what he wants, he just has to let Olivia completely in. Watching Olivia’s journey was much like remembering a similar journey that I had to take when I was her age, there were subtle differences, I was married with children, and she wasn’t. But the emotions were the same.

The ending to this book, wasn’t what I was expecting I will say, I am used to the ending’ of her books taking place much later, however I have to say that it was the perfect ending for these two.

I think that is one of the reasons that I like her books so much; they aren’t the normal romance books. Yes there is a boy and a girl and they meet, and fall in love (sometimes they are already married), but there is more to them than that. In both Cole and Olivia we see them grow and adapt, to become the people they each need to be not only for themselves but for each other.

If you have never picked up a Marie Force book shame on you J I can safely say that I have enjoyed each and every one of her books, and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
