fall from india placeTitle: Fall From India Place

Series: On Dublin Street bk 4

Author: Samantha Young

Genre: Contemporary, New Adult

When Hannah Nichols last saw Marco D’Alessandro, five long years ago, he broke her heart. The bad boy with a hidden sweet side was the only guy Hannah ever loved—and the only man she’s ever been with. After one intense night of giving into temptation, Marco took off, leaving Scotland and Hannah behind. Shattered by the consequences of their night together, Hannah has never truly moved on.

Leaving Hannah was the biggest mistake of Marco’s life, something he has deeply regretted for years. So when fate reunites them, he refuses to let her go without a fight. Determined to make her his, Marco pursues Hannah, reminding her of all the reasons they’re meant to be together.…

But just when Marco thinks they’re committed to a future together, Hannah makes a discovery that unearths the secret pain she’s been hiding from him, a secret that could tear them apart before they have a real chance to start over again.

Thoughts: I really like this series and was super excited for this book as it meant the other couples I love have been together for a long time and have family’s of their own. I’ve also always enjoyed Hannah as a character so I was expecting a lot from this book. Unfortunately what I got was a book that was only so-so.

Hannah has been in love with Marco since she was 13-14 years old. He quickly became her best friend as a teenager and she figured nothing would ever come of it. Until one night everything changed. Not only did it change their relationship but it changed Hannah as well.

I really enjoyed Hannah as a teenager in the past books, but I have to admit I didn’t enjoy her as an adult as much. Granted she had something tramatic happen to her right on the cusp of adulthood, but the way she reacted was almost to over the top. And when Marco comes back into her life she puts him through the ringer, this part I agreed with because I would have done the same thing. However what I really didn’t like was her reaction to the big secret he’s been keeping. Not because it’s a bad secret but because he wants to be sure of who they are as a couple before revealing it to her.

Her reaction drove me insane to the point I ALMOST didn’t finish it. But I trusted that the author would make it work. And eventually she did, but it still bugs the crap out of me her reaction. I don’t know anyone who’d react the way she did.

There is a lot more I want to say, but I can’t without revealing what caused Hannah to behave the way she did, and the secret that Marco has without giving away major spoilers and that is something we don’t do here at TBRG. So I will simply tell you this…

This isn’t my favorite book in the series, but it is a good book. I loved all the catching up we get with the past couples and a grown up Cole who’s book is next and I have super high hopes for.

I have only read the first book, Down London Road, and I really liked that one. Sorry you didn’t love this one! I have a couple more to catch up with before I get to this one.
