Guest blog by Tracy Fabre

I asked Tracy to give me a blog about one of her favorite books or a book that she recently read. Here is her blog….

There is a wonderful writer lurking out there waiting to be catapulted into fame, and his name is Gregory Miller.  Author of the novel Big Cicadas (which has nothing to do with cicadas) and the new collection of short stories called Scaring The Crows: 21 Tales for Noon or Midnight, this Pennsylvania writer has got “it”.
I had the privilege of editing Scaring The Crows for Stonegarden Books (my publisher), and it was the easiest edit I’ve ever done, as his writing is smooth, polished, and dare I say (okay, I DO dare say) flawless.  His stories range from creepy to sentimental to surprising; there were those which made me smile—whether evilly or happily—in pure satisfaction.  It’s a book I even gave as a Christmas gift and the first one to complete her reading reported that she also really admired his skill and the range of the stories he told.
He even scored a quote from Ray Bradbury—so it’s not just me.  I mean it could just be me, but it’s not.  Of course I have excellent taste… but that’s neither here nor there.  It also has the benefit of being a slim and inexpensive little volume, so really, what are you waiting for?  Go buy it! You won’t be sorry—ex-Girl Scout’s honor.
