Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh

HeartofObsid_MediumTitle: Heart of Obsidian

Series: Psy/Changeling bk 12

Author: Nalini Singh

Genre: Paranormal

A dangerous, volatile rebel, hands stained bloodred.
A woman whose very existence has been erased.
A love story so dark, it may shatter the world itself.
A deadly price that must be paid.
The day of reckoning is here.

In Heart of Obsidian Nalini Singh once again proves why she is called the Alpha of Paranormal. This is book that will evoke all your emotions.

Because I want everyone to feel how I felt reading it this review will be spoiler free. Well other than mentioning Kaleb as Nalini herself revealed he is the hero of this book.

I recently went on a quest in the series to find out all I could about Kaleb and the only thing I came away with was a knowledge that there was more to this councilor than he has ever let us know.

When it comes to his heroine, she is exactly who I thought she would be. Their story however is one that I never imagined. It is one that once you know it you understand everything Kaleb has done.

We also find out about Kaleb’s past I have to say that my heart broke for what happened to him. And you realize why he has searched so hard for the woman.

Because of who the heroine is the changlings are in the story. And much as I was hoping we would know what Mercy and Riley are having that information is given out. As the events of this book take place almost immediately after the end of Tangle of Need I got that.

The Civil War The Ghost, Judd and Xavier talk about does take place and is played out in a way I can see how Nalini is beginning to wrap up this story arc in the series and I can’t wait to see where she is going to take the series.

The Ghost’s identity is revealed and when he explains why he did some things they make perfect sense.

Overall this book is well worth the wait we have had. I just finished reading it and I want to read it again. Yes it is that good.

Unless the other paranormal book that I’m waiting for this year is off the charts amazing this will be my top paranormal read of 2013.

Grade A+
