Interview with Sarah from Small World Reads

As part of Book Blogger Apprecication Week I got to interview Sarah over at SmallWorldReads and she got to interview me. I have loved this part of all the excitement for this week and am going to spend the morning reading some of the other interviews that have been done for this. So after reading my interview Sarah head on over to My Friend Amy and check out some of the other interviews

Before you start reading I am going to say that when Sarah sent me the list of questions to answer I loved them so much I sent them back to her to have her answer. So thanks Sarah.

What does reading a good book do for you? Is reading an essential part of your life?
Sarah – A good book sticks with me, makes me see beyond my own small world. Reading is an absolutely essential part of my life and has been as long as I can remember-on my mother’s lap.

Do you have to read before going to sleep?

Sarah – Absolutely. That’s my main reading time.

How many books are in your TBR pile?

Sarah – I have 186 books on my TBR list

When do you do most of your reading?

Sarah – Before I go to sleep.

What is your favorite place to read?

Sarah – Probably in the living room in the big blue chair, but when I start to get sleepy, I transfer to my bed.

How many books would you say you read each year?
Sarah – I probably read between 50-60 books for myself and I can’t imagine how many books I read to my kids each year!
Do you have any reading goals? Do you participate in challenges?

Sarah – I suppose my reading goal would be to get through my TBR pile. I don’t do many challenges, but I’m currently sponsoring the Life Books challenge, and I am doing the New Classics and Around the World challenges as well.

What are the 3 most memorable books from your childhood?
Sarah – From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler, The Happy Hollisters, and The Headless Cupid.
What books might be in your Top 10 list of favorite books ever?
Sarah –

To Kill a Mockingbird
How Green Was My Valley
All the King’s Men
The Chronicles of Narnia (I know there are 7 but I’m counting them as one!)
The Kite Runner
The Glass Castle
The World According to Garp
East of Eden
Slaughterhouse 5
My Antonia

What are the best books you’ve read this year (but not necessarily published this year)

Sarah – All of these reviews are on my sidebar:
A Death in the Family
I Have Lived a Thousand Years
Year of Wonders
Winter Wheat
Unaccustomed Earth
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Sky Isn’t Visible from Here

If you have children, what are some of their favorite books?
Sarah – Harry Potter, Little House series, Chronicles of Narnia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings, and my teenager is going through a Stephen King phase!
Do you read while you eat?

Sarah – Absolutely, unless it’s supper and we’re all together.

Why did you start a book blog? How often do you post?

Sarah – I started a book blog because my book reviews were hijacking my regular blog! I post about 4 times each week.

What do you like most about the book blogging community?

Sarah – Finding amazing new-to-me books!

Great interview. I HAVE to read before I go to bed, too. Isn’t BBAW great? I’ve found so many wonderful new blogs because of it.

What a great interview! I don’t read before bed like I used to. I tend to get my reading done a little earlier–and mostly on the weekends these days. Maybe that’s why I’m not sleeping as well . . .
