I Loved this shapeshifter story. What I like best about Terry Spear’s Jaguar series is that she stays so close to how the actual animals behave in the wild. She doesn’t make up her own characteristics. I also liked that this book has a message about the evils of hunting wild animals on US ranches for sport and profit. I loved the idea that shapeshifters of a specific species not only protects the shapeshifters but also their non-shapeshifting cousins. Sort of like animal rights super heroes.
On the romance front, I loved the chemisty between the two main characters as well as the internal strength of the heroine. She was fun, sassy and was upfront to any man whom wanted to court her, that she was playing the field. Any man who wanted to take her on, needed to get used to that fact or move on but when she meets Wade, he takes on the challenge to show her he’s the one. Grade A+
