Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh review + giveaway

Kiss of Snow

Psy/Changeling Series bk 10

Nalini Singh

Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.

Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.

Then Sienna changes the rules and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight…

A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home…and the alpha who is its heartbeat…

Once again Nalini shows us that she is a master storyteller. in her latest installment of the Psy/Changeling series she once again sweeps us into the world of Changelings/Psy and Human making us feel like this world is completely real, and we know these characters personally. This series gets better and better with each book. When there is a lot of build up for a specific story (think Acheron from Sherrilyn Kenyon), the readers get invested and we have our vision of what we want to happen. Sometimes we like it and sometimes we don’t. I for one think that this is the perfect story for these two, and it lives up to all the expectations I had of this book.

From the moment we meet Hawke we have wanted to know his back story. When did he become the Alpha, what was this tragedy that happened when he and Riley were teen-agers that caused them to become orphans. Why and how did his mate died as a child. All of those questions are answered and the impact that they had on him.

From the moment that he first meets Sienna as a defiant teen-ager protecting her brother and cousin he knows that there is something about her that will change everything, what he wasn’t sure. As he watches her blossom into a woman he is torn, he wants her so much his teeth hurt, and everyone is telling him to back off. Then suddenly he is told okay to not waste any more time. It is enough to make a wolf crazy.

The moment that she dropped out of the net and met Hawke’s eyes as a teenager she broke silence. She knew that he was hers. What she didn’t expect was what took place between that moment and now.

One of the things that I liked about this book was the it explained so much of the behavior and attitude of these two people from the time that we met them. We discover the real reason behind the Lauren family’s rehabilitation order, why Sienna bitched so much about her training with Indigo, and why she chaffed at the way people treated her, especially Hawke.

There is also the story of Walker and Lara. Walker has been the defacto head of the Lauren Family. His back story explains so much about this family and why they are all the way that they are. It also explains a lot about what he did in the Net and how that will impact the coming war.

Lara the healer of SnowDancer is a really great character, and we get to see a bit about what she is like, not a lot which I am really okay with, but others might want more. I found her to be the perfect match for Walker.

The war against the PSY also heats up, and Hawke has to let Sienna do what she was trained to do, which goes against everything in him, to let his woman go into battle. He also discovers just what the X designation is and how deadly it can be especially to Sienna.

There is a lot in this book. Questions are answered, and more questions come up. Sasha and Lucas have their baby (not going to say what it is, but one of my favorite scenes is when Hawke meets the baby). We see more of the Arrows, sadly not the Arrow that I wanted to see but we discover just where their loyalties may lie.

This book was everything that I could have hoped for and more. I was left completely satisfied with every aspect of it. If you are a fan of this series then you won’t be disappointed, I know I wasn’t. In fact since I received my copy I have read it twice.

Grade A

The Psy/Changeling series grabbed me from the first book! Nalini’s world building is amazing. Each book adds another layer to this incredible series. Even the couple’s whose books I wasn’t interested in at first grabbed me and made me love them as well! I think she is a writer whose best is yet to come!

Honestly, my TBR is toppling over but I have had an interest in her work for quite a while now. I would really, really love to start with her Guild Hunter series. The best place to start, the beginning: Angel’s Blood.

My favorite book is Slave to Sensation because the emtional conflict between Sasha and Lucas is so powerful, and because Nalini sets up the whole world of the Psy/Changlings in this book.

She is a gifted storyteller. Would love to have a copy of Slave to Sensation that isn’t raggedy looking. 🙂

I absolutely love this review! So many little teasers, but I’m still going to read this book in one night once it comes out, I can just tell. 🙂

I would love either Bonds of Justice (the only Psy-Changeling book I don’t seem to have), or Angel’s Blood. 🙂 I’m definitely going to subscribe so I can check out your reviews! Thank you for the contest!

Great review, I can’t wait for Kiss of Snow ( the book I’ve been waiting for ). Nalini Singh is definitely one of my favorite authors. I would love to win a copy of Caressed by Ice, absolutely love Judd-my favorite hero yet.

I love Nalini Singh’s books because it’s really refreshing to read about a guy knowing and recognizing his partner and having to convince her. Also, her couples strike such a wonderful balance between fantasy and realistic. They are people who are totally devoted to each other, but not stifling or controlling, but supportive. You can tell that these couples are stronger because they are together. Also, they are just funny, and who doesn’t love humor when it’s well done.
    I would love a copy of Kiss of Snow [ 😉 ]
But really I would love a copy of Archangel’s Kiss or Play of Passion (love both equally)

Nalini Singh’s books have all my favorite elements: humor, intense emotion, cool super powers, hunky men, true love and kick butt women! I absolutely cannot wait for Kiss of Snow! A copy of which I would love to have 🙂 Thank you for the review and contest!

I love Nalini Singh’s Books because the characters are written so well. They all have the supernatural element to them, but Nalini still writes them in a way that helps me relate to and understand them. I adore the Guild Hunter series, and I have recently started on the Psy-changling series, and so far, I love the books!

I love her books because Nalini brings you into the world, for both series, and makes you feel at home there from the beginning. With each book, you learn more and more about your friends, and see how the struggle goes, depending on the side you are on. Reading each book is like going to visit a place that you are very familiar and relaxed with, even though there are dangers everywhere. You know you will be protected.

I would like to have an autographed copy of either Slave to Sensation or Angel’s Blood, as they are the beginning of these wonderful books.

I love that after so many books I still care very much about the characters (who have remained true to their first appearances and don’t jump ship as a plot device), the books don’t feel forced (like many series’ when they become popular and the pressure for another bestseller is on), and best of all the second I pick up one of Singh’s books I completely get lost in the story (no re-reading required).

I started reading Sings books with an old copy of Desert Warrior. I loved it so much I went looking for other books of hers. I’ve been collecting her books ever since. I have not come across one i do not like yet. Something about her books draws me in and holds my attention. I’ve re-read them so many times they are falling apart. To that end i would like another copy of Caressed by Ice because the front cover is literally falling off. I’m also starting to loose pages. I have to sticky-tape them back in. Thank you for this opportunity book reading Gals.

I love everything about Nalini’s Psy/changling world. The alphas will do anything to protect their women, but most of the time the women are more than capable of taking care of themselves AND their alphas. The men always get their worlds turned upside down. I love it!

I would love to win a copy of Caressed by Ice. Judd is awesome!

I am really excited to finally get Hawke’s and Sienna’s story. Sienna is not particularly my favorite character because I find her to be a bit whinny. I am hoping this book will change my opinion. Ideally I would love Kiss of Snow but if I can’t get that, I would love Branded by Fire.

This is a beautiful series. I love her books because i can relate to each and every character. All the insecurities the characters went through helped me overcome my many insecurities and helps me see people from a different point of view other than from where i usually stand. Thats not the only thing that makes me love these books. I have read many many books and in each series there has always been at least two stories the are extremely similar but in Nalini’s psy/changeling series each and every one of books are unique and all the characters themselves are also unique. Of course some of them remind me of others but they are never exactly the same. If, the operative word being “if,” i were to receive any book it would be
Kiss of Snow but if that was not possible then i would love a copy of Branded by Fire. Mercy has always been the character ive wanted to be like my entire life.

I think what I lke best about Nalini’s books is that you continue to care about the people. When a couple’s book is over she doesn’t just forget about them or maybe toss in one sentence about them but you get to see that all of the characters continue to grow and add to the series. I would love a copy of Hostage to Pleasure… Dorian and Ashaya are my abosolute favorites!

I read Kiss of Snow last month and loved it as well! I’m kinda even MORE in love with the Laurens. They were pretty fantastic in this book. 😀 Hawke was very swoon-worthy! Most importantly though, at least for me, was the amazingness that is Judd. Le sigh. I never get tired of reading about him.

Nailini writes such intriguing storylines as well as beautiful and emotional romances. It’s everything I look for in a book.

Don’t add me in the contest, please. 🙂 I basically have all of the Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter books.

I’ve loved both of Nalini’s series ever since I picked them up. Something about them just… spoke to me. I think it was the characters. I’ve always liked strong characters that have their own voices long after you’ve stopped reading about them, and Nalini seemed to nail it every time. I’ve always especially been compelled by both Hawke and Sienna, and as soon as it occurred to me that they might be together (halfway through Branded by Fire), I’ve been waiting for this book to come out. So excited!!!

I’d love a copy of Visions of Heat

Great review! No spoilers which is good but :0( I swear I have never read so many reviews for a book I already know I’m going to devour. Nalini is an amazing author! She always gets the chemistry right and the characters are refreshing. I discovered the Guild Hunter series a few months ago and then Psy-Changeling (sleep..who needs it). I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS ONE. I’m grateful I just found this series because I would be insane otherwise waiting for Hawke and Sienna. Nalini if you see this…please keep pumping out these wonderful stories. We do have to one day hear about Kit, Tammy’s cubs, Keenan and Noor, Lucas and Sasha’s baby….you get my point :0)

I’d welcome any Psy-Changeling that is heavy on the wolves or cats.
