Blurb: When Nowhere is Safe

Most people avoid the dreaded Whitechapel district. For Honoria Todd, it’s the last safe haven. But at what price?

Blade is known as the master of the rookeries—no one dares cross him. It’s been said he faced down the Echelon’s army single–handedly, that ever since being infected by the blood–craving he’s been quicker, stronger, and almost immortal.

When Honoria shows up at his door, his tenuous control comes close to snapping. She’s so…innocent. He doesn’t see her backbone of steel—or that she could be the very salvation he’s been seeking.

Favorite quote(s)/excerpt(s):  “Are you decent?”

“Rarely,” he said, with an ironic drawl.

“Are you clothed?”

“Aye.”

Thoughts: This book has actually been in my TBR pile for a while now.  It’s not one I grabbed with the intent to review, and not even one I was sure I would like to be honest.  I’ve never read a book by this author, nor a steampunk novel.  The cover nabbed my attention though so made an impulse buy.  From the moment I started reading though I was intrigued.  Kiss of Steel is really a mixed bag of interests….a touch regency romance, a touch futuristic, a touch paranormal.  The Whitechapel district that makes up a large part of the world throws out hints of the Jack the Ripper era.  Yet, we also have a totally unique world that is unlike any other.  Bec McMaters really deserved a hell of a lot of credit for this book because she manages to write it all in such a way that comes together seamlessly.

I loved the book…it grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let go.  This one of those books that has you grabbing the next book immediately after reading it.

You don’t want to miss this one – that’s for sure!
