Mercy Thompson series Book #3 – IRON KISSED
Blurb: I could smell her fear, and it satisfied something deep inside me that had been writhing under her cool, superior gaze. I curled my upper lip so she could get a good look at my sharp teeth. I might only weigh thirty or so pounds in my coyote shape, but I was a predator…
Mechanic Mercy Thompson can shift her shape – but not her loyalty. When her former boss and mentor is arrested for murder and left to rot behind bars by his own kind, it’s up to Mercy to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not.
Mercy’s loyalty is under pressure from other directions, too. Werewolves are not known for their patience, and if Mercy can’t decide between the two she cares for, Sam and Adam may make the choice for her…
Mercy Rating: A++
Thoughts: This is hands down my absolute favorite Mercy book thus far. Honestly, it’s hard for me to imagine another that could top it. I would even go so far as to say that this one hits the top of my favorite books – Ever. I can still remember the first time I read this one – the sheer amount of emotions this book wrung from me! I am not an overly emotional person – it takes a lot to bring me to tears, to make me laugh. Yet I still remember crying – literally crying – as I finished this one. This book turned me inside out – and won a place my heart. I still find myself going back and re-reading passages from it. I literally loved this book.
Briggs doesn’t shy away from the tough subjects or the tough emotions and she bared Mercy’s soul to us in this one. This one is simply everything a book should be.
