MERCY THOMPSON Re-Read BLOG Tour – River Marked by Patricia Briggs

Mercy Thompson series Book #6 – River Marked

8230540

Blurb: Coyote shifter Mercy Thompson knows that life with her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will never be boring, but even their wedding doesn’t go as planned. Nevertheless, a ten-day honeymoon camping on the banks of the Columbia River, alone, just the two of them, should make up for it. But the trip – and the pimped-out trailer they’re using – is courtesy of the fae. And nothing from the fae comes without strings attached…
Being a different breed of shapeshifter – a walker – Mercy can see ghosts, but the spirit of her long-gone father has never visited her. Until now. An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River – and innocent people are dying. As other walkers make their presence know to Mercy, she must reconnect with her heritage to exorcise the world of the legend known as the river devil…

Mercy Rating:  A+

Thoughts:  This one deserves a shout out for originality – gotta say I have never read anything like it…including the wildly imaginative ‘monster’ that is in the river.  As you can imagine, it is Mercy’s next little problem to deal with – and on her honeymoon no less!  That’s right….Mercy finally tied the knot, and if you follow this series you know who!

Honestly, I have to say this one had me a little nervous.  I think it was one of Mercy’s toughest battles yet, and I was a little afraid of how it was going to end.  I simply could not stop devouring those pages though – I have to say, Briggs keeps me enthralled.  I wait on pins and needles for the next book, and wind up reading it within a few hours!

In this one, we see a lot less of the Pack than usual and far more regarding Mercy’s past.  We finally get to discover more about Mercy’s whole past and see how that entwines with who and what she is.
