Too bad he can’t take his eyes off her.

Soldier-for-hire Ethan Hayes is the youngest member of an elite mercenary team. While he may be affectionately nicknamed the rookie, the skills Ethan honed as a Marine make him seriously dangerous. But when a sudden distress call puts him in close quarters with a rival, he finds more than his field skills being put to the test.

Juliet Mason stands out as the master thief in a covert group of assassins and spies. Her latest mission is personal—and it’s gone horribly wrong. Juliet may prefer to work alone, but when the rookie comes to her aid in snowy Eastern Europe, she can’t deny they make a good team. But even up against a powerful enemy, their most challenging task yet may be fighting the passion between them….

ThoughtsMidnight Pursuits pairs together two very interesting characters – Ethan, the youngest (and sweetest) member of Morgan’s team of mercenaries, and Juliet, the master thief from Noelle’s team of ‘chameleons’ (the feminine counterpart to Morgan’s group which is led by Noelle, The Queen of Assassins). Juliet learns quickly enough that there is more to Ethan than his surface appearance leads her to believe. Drawn to him against her will, the sparks between them burn hotter and hotter…..

Yet again, Kennedy managed to bring tears to my eyes over the course of this book (more than once, in fact), which is rare for me. That just goes to show what a great author Kennedy is. I love when a book can draw such strong emotions from me. To bring me to tears, or to make me laugh with just words in a book – that takes an extremely skilled and talented author. With Midnight Pursuits, the emotions these characters have denied for so long reaches a boiling point – and those emotions only make their connection that much stronger and even more captivating. Not only a great edition to this series, but an excellent one!
