THOUGHTS:
What a strong and capable heroine Sidney Bristol was able to write in Emma Ration. So many things in her upbringing and past could have broken her and made her withdraw from life, instead she takes it by the horns and lives!! No apologies for who she is!
Jacob is strong, quiet and brooding and he’s immediately drawn to Emma and how her mere presence settles his tension and anger. A red-hot affair is inevitable for them but the timing is so wrong and there are forces at work that will undermine and try to drive them apart.
This read is fast-paced and intense and had me wondering until almost the very end who the bad guy was! I love that Sidney Bristol writes in alternating points of view. It’s a treat to be in both characters heads when they think about their relationship and where the storyline is headed.
Although this was a stand-alone read and I got my HEA there is so much to look forward to in the other strings that were left dangling in Blind! The Killer Club, the BAU team with it’s intriguing members and then there’s Travis… we did not meet him this time but he’s Emma’s half-brother and he was mentioned multiple times. The next story, Dangerous Attraction, is his!! Sidney Bristol loves her readers because she is not going to make us wait long… Part one of Travis’s story will be out next month and parts 2 and 3 will follow before the end of 2015! Lots to look forward to!

“I’m very good at what I do. Know what you want?” She stared at the menu and wrestled internally with her libido. Sleeping with a client was bad for business.
“Yeah, I think so.” He flipped his menu closed.
She felt his gaze on her and heat rolled over her body. By the end of the night, if she didn’t spontaneously combust, she’d have to take a real cold shower.
“Would you show me what you do?” His voice was lower, inviting her to do wicked things, at least in her mind.
“For our real first date, what would you like to do?” She didn’t strike him as the dinner and a movie kind of girl. Emma was a woman who did things.
“You assume I’d go out with you.” She jabbed a fry at him.
He reached out and grabbed her wrist, holding it while he leaned across the table and took the morsel of food from her fingers with his mouth. She stared at him, her eyes growing wider the closer he got. His lips touched her fingers as he bit the fry off and she sucked in a breath. Oh yeah, she wanted him, she was just playing hard to get.
