New Release and Review: The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Crown of Gilded Bones, book 3 in the Blood and Ash series, releases today!

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes a new novel in her Blood and Ash series…

She’s been the victim and the survivor…

Poppy never dreamed she would find the love she’s found with Prince Casteel. She wants to revel in her happiness but first they must free his brother and find hers. It’s a dangerous mission and one with far-reaching consequences neither dreamed of. Because Poppy is the Chosen, the Blessed. The true ruler of Atlantia. She carries the blood of the King of Gods within her. By right the crown and the kingdom are hers.

The enemy and the warrior…

Poppy has only ever wanted to control her own life, not the lives of others, but now she must choose to either forsake her birthright or seize the gilded crown and become the Queen of Flesh and Fire. But as the kingdoms’ dark sins and blood-drenched secrets finally unravel, a long-forgotten power rises to pose a genuine threat. And they will stop at nothing to ensure that the crown never sits upon Poppy’s head.

A lover and heartmate…

But the greatest threat to them and to Atlantia is what awaits in the far west, where the Queen of Blood and Ash has her own plans, ones she has waited hundreds of years to carry out. Poppy and Casteel must consider the impossible—travel to the Lands of the Gods and wake the King himself. And as shocking secrets and the harshest betrayals come to light, and enemies emerge to threaten everything Poppy and Casteel have fought for, they will discover just how far they are willing to go for their people—and each other.

And now she will become Queen…

My Thoughts:

Jennifer Armentrout has done it again!

This book picks up right where A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire ends so make sure you’re all caught up before diving in.

Poppy, Casteel and the gang are back and better than ever. Poppy has just learned that she is the rightful Queen of Atlantia. She’ll have to choose whether she wants to forsake her birthright or take the throne and rule a kingdom she’s never known, all while uncovering the truth of her past.

I think this book might be my favorite of the series so far. I know what you’re thinking…. I’ve said that about each book so far, and you’re right but I swear this epic journey just gets better and better with every book!

I loved learning more about Atlantia. I loved the new characters that get introduced, and of course all our favorites are back and still awesome AF. No lie yall, Casteel is even better in this book. This book solidified him as the swooniest book boyfriend ever. His relationship with Poppy grows in this book too and they form a bond and partnership that is unmatched. Poppy is even more of a badass. She’s been through so much already and how she handles everything thrown at her is inspiring. She faces so many threats and has to search for answers to so many truths about her origin and past.

Seriously, I could not put this book down. I found myself in a position where I needed answers and couldn’t read fast enough to get them. But once I got those answers…Oh my gods; it’s nothing I ever expected. The Crown of Gilded Bones is another fantastic installment in the Blood & Ash series full of snark, swoon and adventure that will leave you wanting more.

Grade A+
