A Reason to Stay
Cedar Grove Series bk 1

Delinda Jasper

Ellie loves her hometown, job, and best friend Jake. But Jake is a ladies man that will never settle down. Ellie can’t stand to see him with other women anymore, so she is packing up and leaving Cedar Grove and everything she loves to start over. A night of unexpected passion makes her start to think maybe things can work out between them, until she happens upon a secret Jake has been keeping for more than a year.

Will their friendship be forever torn apart?

Or will Ellie find A Reason to Stay?

REVIEW: Before I begin I have to say that when I read the synopsis of this book I was partly excited and partly leery. This could go wrong in so many ways, as I have seen in other books, but it didn’t.

Jake is love with Ellie, and Ellie is in love with Jake. So what’s the problem, they have never told the other one that they love each other, beyond the friendship love, the reason why, because they are best friends and don’t want to lose that relationship, one that they have had for most of their lives.

This is a short book, so there is no real depth character development, which really works for this book. The reason it works is because you feel like you already know the characters, at least I did. They could be the people around you, or if your like me and spent any time growing up in a small town, you can see these people in those that you grew up with.

Of the two characters I have to say that Jake was by far my favorite character, he knows who and what he wants, Ellie, but is willing to let her move on with her life, even if it makes him miserable. He wants her to be happy.

There is a lot of HEAT in this book, and there is one scene that is HOT, it will make your computer steam. In fact I have to say that it is probably one of my favorite scenes in the book. Want to know what scene it is, well you will have to read the book to find out.

This is a very short book, like I said earlier,  about 60 pages so everything happens over a 24 hour time period and is more of an introduction to the series I thought, and what an introduction it is. I am completely hooked and can’t wait to read more from this author and also the citizens of Cedar Grove.

If you are looking for a quick easy e-book read than I recommend this book.

I give this book a 4.75 out of 5.
