reaverTitle: Reaver

Series: Lords of Deliverance bk 5

Author: Larissa Ione

Genre: Paranormal

WARRIOR OF HEAVEN

Reaver is an angel with a past, a record, and a less-than-heavenly attitude. Powerful enough to fight alongside the fiercest battle angels-and crazy enough to risk his wings on a one-way mission to hell-he’s agreed to go where no angel has ever gone before…to steal the most seductive and dangerous prize of Satan himself.

ANGEL OF HELL

Harvester is one of the Fallen, a once-heroic angel who sacrificed her wings to work as an undercover agent in hell. But now her cover has been blown, and she’s been doomed to an eternity of agonizing torture. Even if Reaver can snatch her away from Satan’s lair, even if they can fight their way out of the underworld’s darkest depths, there is one thing Harvester can never escape-her newfound thirst for an angel’s blood.

Thoughts: I’ve been a fan of Ione’s ever since I read Pleasure Unbound. She’s one of those authors who for me when I finish a book say there’s no way she can get better and yet she does.

When this series started I was meh about it. Eternal Rider was okay, and Immortal Rider was a bit better. Then came Lethal Rider and I was officially on board with this series. For me Thantos was her best hero, and then came Rogue Rider and Respeth. That book made me cry, it was so intense and emotional.

When it was announced she was writing Reaver’s story I wasn’t sure what to expect especially as his heroine was to be Harvester. The woman who had driven him bat-shit crazy and had tortured him horrifically. I should have learned by now to trust Ione as Reaver is one hell of an amazing book.

She has taken every thing we thought we knew about Reaver and Harvestar and thrown then out the window. They have a past that the first time you hear it you go huh, and then it makes perfect sense. This makes their love story so much more powerful.

What I really loved about this book was the twist she takes on the Archangels. They aren’t perfect, in fact one of them is a big fat jerk, and his smack-down comes man is it good.

Of the books in this series, this one is now in my top 2 books. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. Whatever it is I know Ione will once again deliver a great story.
