archangels legionTitle: Archangel’s Legion

Series: Guild Hunter bk 6

Author: Nalini Singh

Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force.

Vampires are dying impossibly of disease.

Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York a ruin and Raphael’s Tower under siege by enemy archangels.

Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York…and on Raphael. Rivers of crimson and nightmares given flesh, the world will never again be the same.

Review: Nalini Singh is a master story teller who with can suck you into a story so fast that before you know it you’re reading the last page.

When I first started this series I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. I’m not a huge UF fan, and the story of Rapheal and Elena didn’t appeal to me. However when I finally read it I was hooked. With each book getting better and better. My favorite book in the series however was that of Dimitri, Raphael’s second.

From the first paragraph to the last word in this story I was hooked. There is a lot going on in this book. Alliances are made, enemies are revealed, and Raphael is changing.

We discover more about Elena and her relationship with her dad. No, it isn’t better, but we find out why he is the way he is. Elena has to make a decision about her relationship with him.

There is a lot going on with the Archangels, Raphael and Elena begin to make alliances, and Elena becomes friends with an unlikely ally. Because it’s Raphael we of course get more about his mother.

Dimitri and Venom my two favorite of the Seven aren’t in the book a lot, which made me sad. But we get an awesome fun scene with Illium aka Bluebell and Aodhan. We also discover more about these two, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them. We’ve not seen much of Nassir recently, but he makes an appearance as well.

There is a blast from Raphael’s past that doesn’t make Elena happy, in fact she see’s a bit of the green eyed monster.

One of the things I loved about this story is that Raphael and Elena’s relationship isn’t perfect. In fact they fight just like a regular couple. It was really refreshing to see, as we don’t get a lot of that in romance. What happens after the HEA. It made me like them all the more.

Overall this is a fabulous addition to this world Nalini has created and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
