Review: Beyond Surrender by Kit Rocha

Title: Beyond Surrender
Series: Beyond bk 9
Author: Kit Rocha
Genre: Dsytopian, Erotic, Romance

Blurb:

She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor.

For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she’s tired of being everyone’s baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O’Kane brothers. But she never thought she’d meet him in the middle of a war.

He’s the brains of the revolution.

War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors’ successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn’t have time for distractions—especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa.

Opposites don’t just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they’ve always known. But this is war—deadly, bloody war—and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden.

Thoughts: It’s hard to believe that this series has come to an end. It feels like yesterday when I stumbled across the first book Beyond Shame and was hooked on this world that Rocha has created. While I’ve read all the books in the series, some I’ve loved and other’s I’ve only liked.

Finding out the final book was Ryder and Nessa made me all sorts of happy. Especially with the way Rocha set up Ryder.

I absolutely loved the relationship between Ryder and Nessa and how it developed and impacted not just them but those around them.

There is a lot happening in this book because it is the last one in the series and also the end of the war that started in book 1 whether we knew it or not. There is also a lot of build up for the spin-off series that starts with Ashwini (a character who’s story I haven’t looked forward to as much since Cruz, Ace and Rachel).  I don’t want to give anything away with this story but trust me when I tell you it took some turns I wasn’t expecting, introduced some connections I can’t wait to see explored and reminded me why I love this series so much.

If you’ve never read this series than I suggest you start with the first book Beyond Shame as there are things that happen in this book that won’t make sense unless you’ve read all the books.
