Review: Burn by Maya Banks + giveaway

burnTitle: Burn

Series: Breathless bk 3

Author: Maya Banks

Genre: Erotic Romance

Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it’s the woman who changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and desire…

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side—extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Even the women he’s shared with his best friend, Jace.

But Jace is involved with a woman he has no intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a relationship with a woman who gives him everything he needs, leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.

Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

Review: Maya Banks is one of those authors who I can always count on to deliver a great story. In the conclusion to her Breathless Trilogy she once again delivers not only a great story, but an emotional story.

After watching his two best friends Gabe and Jace find love, Ash suddenly finds himself flying solo. When he comes across Josie in the park he’s instantly intrigued and sets out to discover everything he can about her. When the opportunity presents itself for him to enter her life he takes it.

Until she met Ash Josie didn’t realize what was missing from her current relationship. When he enters her life and points out things about her relationship, it makes her question it and make some changes. When she meets him again he convinces her to give them a shot.

Their journey appears to be an easy one, but it is anything but.

While I liked the first book, and thought the second book was ok I loved this book.

This is one of those books that after you close it stays with you. At least it did for me. Long after I finished it I couldn’t stop thinking about it. About how Ash felt about Josie, and how he went after her. How Josie reacted to everything that was happening in her life. The changes in both their lives.

There were a couple of things however I wished we’d gotten more of. One of those things was the secondary relationship with Ash’s sister Brittney and Kai. I really wanted more of them,. The other one I won’t say because it’s part of Ash’s story line.

The emotional journey these two embark on is one of the best ones I think she has ever written. It fully engages the reader in the journey Ash and Josie take, from the moment they meet to the last page of the book.

In my opinion this is the best book in the series.

Before I started Burn I didn’t think so, but some things happen in it that reference back to the other books enough that while you don’t have to have read them, that it makes what happens have perspective.
