Thoughts: What can I say about Singh’s writing that I haven’t already said? She’s fantastic, brilliant, a true story teller. She has the ability with a paragraph to suck you into a word you believe is completely real. Her characters come to life on the page and in my mind.
I’ve been fascinated with Silver and the Merchant clan since they were introduced into the series, so being able to FINALLY learn more about them and how the operate was fantastic. And Silver…she’s one of the best heroines I’ve read in a long time. (I’m not counting re-reads). I don’t want to give anything away about her, because I think one of the best parts of this book is discovering who Silver is and how she deals with a very pushy bear.
When it comes to writing heroes, in my opinion, Singh is one of the absolute best at it. Valentin is everything you’d expect in one of her heroes and so much more. There is a lot going on in his pack and how he balances and Silver gave me all of the feels. Oh and I really really really want a scene with him, Lucas and Hawke having a beer and discussing the PSY mates.
There is a lot happening in the world as well in this book, and Singh leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger in that aspect. More than she’s done with any of her other books. No I’m not going to spoil it for you. Just know that it’s major.
If you’re a fan of this series then you definitely won’t want to miss this book and if you’ve never picked this series up WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
