Series Saturday: Secrets/The Archer Family by Lecia Cornwall

If you’ve never read one of Lecia Cornwall’s historicals well then you are missing out on one of the best historical romance authors I’ve read…and that is saying a lot as I’m extremely picky about my historicals. Today’s series is Lecia’s first series and one I have on my TBR for 2015.

secrets of a proper countessSome secrets we take to the grave. Others we just take to bed . . .

Lady Isobel Maitland cannot afford to be caught doing anything even remotely scandalous, or she risks losing everything she holds dear. But one night, in a dark garden at a masquerade ball, Isobel gives in to temptation and lets an innocent flirtation with the notorious Marquess of Blackwood turn into passion.

The Marquess is no stranger to seduction or intrigue, and his rake’s reputation disguises a deadly mission. When his mystery lover flees before he can learn her name, he knows he must find her. But all clues lead toward the prim and dowdy Isobel Maitland. It appears the lady has secrets of her own, secrets that Blackwood would dearly love to uncover.

all the pleasures of the seasonOn the first day of Christmas:

the price of temptationOnce wed to England’s most notorious turncoat . . .

But when her life is threatened because of his actions, she realizes a stiff upper lip won’t be enough to keep her safe. So she hires a new footman powerful enough to protect her . . .only to find herself shamelessly intoxicated by his breathtaking masculinity.

Captain Sinjon Rutherford is no footman . . .but there are those who believe him a traitor. The only way to prove his innocence isby playing the part of elegant Lady Evelyn’s servant in order to infiltrate her home and uncover the truth about her suspicious relations. Yet what seems at first an easy deception is anything but, once he meets his alluring new employer and discovers just how tempting a woman in charge can be . . .

Because sometimes passion hides in plain sight.
