Skin Heat *giveaway*

So every once in a while a book comes along where you so have to judge it by it’s cover, and this is one of those books. When I got the email asking if I would be interested in hosting a giveaway of this book, I thought hmm haven’t heard of it but sure, then I went and checked out the book, as soon as I saw the cover I had a really shallow moment and went I could careless about the book, but OMG I want that cover, it is hotter than Hawke’s cover. Yes I said it, it is hotter than Hawke’s cover. I sent the cover of this book to one of my co-workers and she said that I ruined her for the rest of the day, all she could see was the cover.

What is the book about (not that we really care with that cover) this is what Berkeley has to say about the book:
Veterinarian Geneva Harper finds herself irresistibly drawn to Zeke Noble, the mysterious young man to whom wild is second nature. When a killer threatens Neva, Zeke’s need to protect her is as fierce as his desire to claim her as his mate.

Now for the fun part, the giveaway. What book have you judged based on the cover and was the book better or worse than you thought? Three lucky commenters will receive an ARC of this book courtesy of Berkeley. ย The contest will go till Friday November 19th.

Anchor & Storm by Kate Poole. Loved the cover for some reason. Still do. The story, so so. I will stop reading a book at 2 chapters if I am not getting it. I finished this book. BUT….I have not reread it either. So so. Another fabulous cover, The Year of Living Scandalously, Julia London. Wow. The book, really good. Dont always love Julia London. But mostly. And this one was really good.

The first books that come to mind are the Sookie Stackhouse books. I actually refused to buy them because I didn’t like the covers. My mother actually bought the entire set, read and raved about them, and then insisted on me reading. she did not let up until I finally sat down and started devouring them. I am completely addicted to them now.

Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber is a Yummy cover that I bought and didn’t have a clue about the book itself. It ultimately initiated me into the Hotter side of romance.

I bought THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE based on the cover, it just ‘spoke’ to me for some reason. I am not normally drawn to novels that have supernatural elements when I read literary fiction but I ended up loving it. It has since become one of my most favorite novels.

Another one…Rachel Gibson’s SEE JANE SORE has one of the ugliest, cheapest covers I’ve ever seen on a romance. Had the book not been raved about by RG fans I never would have picked it up!

First, that cover is very, very nice, but I have to disagree that it is better than Hawke’s. Hawke’s cover is just…lickable, bitable….yummmm….

Anywho, the book I judged by the cover was The Sex Lives of Cannibals, I just could not resist buying a book with that title written on a huge sun over a beautiful tropical island. The book turned out to be a travelogue and it was really entertaining.

Erin I have to say that yes Hawke’s cover is just um yeah well we all know about Hawke ๐Ÿ™‚

Scorpio I have to say that I haven’t liked one of Rachel Gibson’s covers. I think that they could be so much better.

Heather D I have to say that I haven’t read a single Sookie book however Mike LOVES True Blood.

Lisa haven’t seen that book, will have to check it out.

The last book I read where I fell in love with the cover, was Water Bound by Christine Feehan. Only, it was the inside cover. That one is soooo hot!
The book itself was great too ๐Ÿ˜‰

But this cover, okay, my boyfriend would say again: you buy the books for the covers! Yes, I love halfnaked men with tattoo’s, what can you do about it?

I just bought Gena Showalters book Ecstasy in Darkness just because of the cover! It is pretty hot with a cool whip even! I have never read her books before and never heard of this series. I started it and it made no sense whatsoever and was kinda stupid it’s about alien vampires! I don’t know what I was thinking! I might like it beteter if I go back and start with the first book but I’ll put it back on my shelf till then.

Johanna, try Gena’s Lords of the Underworld Series. I love them, you do have to start with the first one however. I think it is Darkest Night.
