Series: Play by Play bk 3
Author: Jaci Burton
If you want to score, you have to get in the game…
The last thing Jenna Riley needs is more sports in her life. While her brothers are off being athletic superstars, she’s stuck running the family’s sports bar, whether she likes it or not. Then in walks pro hockey stud Tyler Anderson. As much as Jenna would like to go to the boards with him, she’s vowed to never fall for a jock—even one as hot as Ty.
Ty, intrigued by the beautiful bar owner, becomes a regular. He senses that Jenna wants to do something more with her life. And as he gains her trust, the passion between them grows, as does Ty’s insistence that Jenna should start living for herself. With his encouragement, Jenna starts to believe it, too…
But first, Jenna has to figure out what she wants, what she needs, who she loves, and if she has the passion and pride to take a shot at having it all—including Ty…
When it comes to Alpha male heroes Jaci Burton has them pegged. She knows how to write men that know who they are, what they want and aren’t afraid to go after it. Especially if it concerns a woman, and more so if it’s THE WOMAN.
When we met Ty in Changing the Game I just knew he was going to be trouble and man was he ever. But in a really good way. Ty is one of those guys that knows he has talent on the ice, but he also knows he has to work hard to make sure he keeps his position. He wasn’t a golden boy hockey player. No he earned his way up the ranks to make it where he is at now.
Jenna has grown up in the shadow of her older brothers, Mick who plays pro football (Making the Play) and Gavin who plays pro baseball (Changing the Game) and is now in charge of the families sports bar. She has these ideas in her head that she hates sports and wants nothing to do with athletes. So it drives her insane that her body wants Ty. And Ty wants her right back.
Watching these two do the relationship dance was a lot of fun. The sparks fairly leap of the pages, and OMG the sex!!! I’ll just warn you now you may want to have a fan nearby. There’s one scene that well um I will let you discover it all on your own and it is HOT!! Like page scorching HOT!!
One of the things I really liked about Ty is that he could read Jenna. He didn’t let her hide behind her walls and facade and made her see what he saw. Being a woman she of course didn’t like this at all and it causes them to have so problems, but hey what relationship is perfect.
For me this book read like a self-discovery journey for Jenna, but in a good way. Because of something that was told to her when she was discovering who she was as a person, she has let that cloud and control her ever since.
If you like sports heroes who know who and what they want, and some hot and steamy pages (don’t forget that fan) then you won’t want to miss this book. I think it’s my favorite in the series so far.
