What makes for a great historical romance? In our humble opinion the authors that are in our top 5 historical reads of the year have the magic touch when it comes to crafting stories that sweep us away from the 21st century and into the past, where it’s the American West, Regency England or the Wilds of the Scottish Highlands.

Love Jennifer Ashley’s Mackenzies, can’t wait for Hart’s story. Also loving Elizabeth Hoyt’s Maiden Lane series, Loretta Chase, Julia Quinn, Sarah Maclean, Tessa Dare, Anne Gracie and too many more to mention.

Joanna Bourne’s books are amazing too, so looking forward to The Black Hawk.
