Series:  The Billionaire’s Club #2

Author:  Mandy Baxter

Genre:  Romance

Blurb:  In The Billion Dollar Player by Mandy Baxter, Jase Blackwell, starting tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, is a pro when it comes to football—and to women. Never one to shy away from a challenge, “Billion Dollar Blackwell” is finally able to get the cute waitress he’s had his eye on out for a little fun. But when their steamy encounters inspire Jase to play better than he ever has before, he has to wonder if this exciting woman is more than just a good luck charm…

Avery Lockhart doesn’t understand why a pro football player would want to go out with her. Incredibly wealthy and undeniably sexy, Jase Blackwell is everything she thinks she’s not. Getting a little closer to this enigmatic billionaire, however, proves too much for Avery to resist. But as their passion heats up, so does Jase’s game play, and soon, the rumors start to fly. Is Avery only being kept around to ease Jace’s pre-game superstitions? Or, like she believes, does their connection run deeper…?

Thoughts:  This is nice, quick, sexy, sports themed romance from a series that is easily read as a stand alone and is always sure to be a enjoyable escape!  I recently read a couple of the other releases from this series (Rocked by Billionaire and The Billionaire Cowboy) and was so impressed I was quick to grab this one as well, and I have yet to be disappointed by any of them.  In this one, Jase gets some advice to go and maybe have a little pre-game fun (which he only considers for a second) before his gaze lands on the beautiful waitress, Avery – who seems a little reluctant, which is a change for him when it comes to women!  That only makes Jase more determined…but will she turn out to be more than just a simple good luck charm, after all?

This is one of those little misunderstandings books, where the guy actually is glad that someone is looking at him as more than just a simple one night stand, and the girl is has accepted that that is all it can ever be.  Getting them to actually get on the same page is the whole crux the book – enjoyable and funny when it comes to some of the misunderstandings, but short.  This one was a cute read, not quite as good as the other two I read – a little predictable but still enjoyable.
