The Guy Next Door

Anthology

Lori Foster, Susan Donovan and Victoria Dahl

Ready, Set, Jett by Lori Foster
A vacation from her no-strings romance with her sexy next-door neighbor. That’s what Natalie Alexander needs to get her head— and heart—together. But her solo trip south turns into a disaster when gorgeous Jett Sutter turns up with another challenge.
Gail’s Gone Wild by Susan Donovan
Single mom Gail Chapman insists on chaperoning her teenage daughter’s spring-break trip to Key West. But she never expects to face temptation—in the hunky form of Jesse Batista, the mysterious man in the cottage next door.
Just One Taste by Victoria DahlAll-work-and-no-play businessman Eric Donovan won’t be distracted by a “business

woman” who’s all wrong for him. Beth Cantrell owns a woman’s erotica shop! And she has a juicy little secret. Can she tempt him to put pleasure before business for once?

Okay I will admit it, I got this book because I LOVE Lori Foster. There have been very few books of hers that I don’t like. What I liked even better is that it kicks off her new series.

Natalie and Jett are awesome together. Both of them secretly want more from each other than the booty calls that they have been giving each other. Not that they aren’t AMAZING booty calls. Natalie is very insecure as a person, and I have to say that coming from her background it is completely understandable. She doesn’t understand how anyone could want her, especially her extremely hot neighbor Jett.

Jett comes from a completely different background than Natalie and while he has wanted her for a long time, and is determined to take their relationship from just sex to an actual relationship. When Natalie looks like she is going to say no, help comes in the form of an unexpected source. Jett takes full advantage and presses his suit.

This book is the perfect precursor to her new series.

Grade B+

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Gail’s Gone Wild, having nor read a lot of Susan Donovan books, but I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

Gail’s teenage daughter and her best friend want to go to Spring Break their senior year of high school, and Gail is having none of it, that is until she comes up with the perfect compromise. Spring Break in the Keyes, with her as the chaperon. She figured that she would spend the time curtailing the girls activities and reading on the beach. What she wasn’t counting on was Jesse her neighbor.

Jesse has been burned by vacation bunnies in the past, and is determined that this time he will protect himself from his vacation neighbor. What he didn’t plan on was falling hard for her. He convinces his friends on the island to hide who he really is so that he can discover if she is with him for him or because of who he is.

This is a really cure story set in an amazing location. I enjoyed tooling around the Keyes on the back of Jesse’s bike, and seeing all the sights that he showed Gail, not to mention all the heat that was going on between the two of them.

Grade B+

Unfortunately Just One Taste was a bust for me. This is the first book in a series, and I wish it hadn’t been a build up but that we had had an actual ending. In the beginning I was invested in the characters, and I wanted to know more about them, and how it was all going to end for them. And then the end came and there was no resolution, just a to be continued.

Grade C

Overall I liked this anthology. If you like these authors then you will want to check this one out, and if you haven’t read them before this is the perfect way to start reading them.

To be perfectly honest, I have seen this book a hundred times. On different review places, facebook, etc. And I can only say I had no idea there was another author besides Lori Foster. Who I love. But with that cover, I never noticed anything else but her name and well, that cover! LOL But it is a book I will be looking for. I have gotten spoiled in a way with free shipping online. But….the bad things is you dont browse like you do IN the store. I have to make a trip to the store. But then, I spend way more money! My birthday and Christmas gift cards are nearly gone. So I am stretching them as far as I can! LOL

Bought this today. It was one of those deals where I sat to wait when I got done first. So I started reading, of course. Short stories, what else?? Mmmm, well, yes, good buy, glad I had it. Ended up, I got through a whole story. Not the first one though! LOL I started with the third one. Loved it. Isnt it funny how I could sit and read a whole short story without stopping at a busy shopping place? But to try that at home would be nearly impossible! LOL
