The Lady Most Likely…

The Lady Most Likely
by Julia Quinn/Eloisa James/Connie Brockway

Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife—so his sister hands him a list of the very best young ladies on the market. And then, because he refuses to tear himself away from the stables where he trains Arabian racehorses, she invites all those ladies to a house party, along with some other bachelors, of course. So who will Hugh choose? The Botticelli-esque, enchanting Gwendolyn? The outspoken, delightful Katherine? If he doesn’t work fast, he’ll lose those ladies to his closest friends, and then where will he look for a wife? Perhaps, just perhaps, toward a lady who’s not on a market at all, and would require a great deal of persuading…

I was not sure about this book at first, I have read books like this and it was a mash up of different stories that did not flow well, but I thought since I like all these authors I would give it a chance – so glad I did.

I found the whole book to be so well written yet each author was able to maintain their individuality.

It begins with Hugh who experiences a tragic life changing event that makes him realize he better do his duty and find a wife.  His sister decides to throw a party and invite some eligible candidates, and wow what a party she throws!  We are left wondering who will be the lucky one, especially when Hugh has more interest in his horses than he does the ladies, and the ending will leave you (at least it did me) very pleased.  Who he ends up with is the perfect one for him and who I was hoping for from the beginning of the book.

But you don’t just get his story, there are 3 love stories going on at the same time which was great.  All full of humor and sweep you off your feet romance.

I recommend picking this one up, it is a good way to start our this next year.

20 more pages! LOL But really, what a terrific idea for a book. Not three little tiny stories, one long regular story with three stories. 🙂 Love it. Wish there were more like this. You kind of ‘knew’ but you didnt really truly ‘know’ at the beginning who would end up with who. Like most books, its right there at the beginning of the book. Which is fine mostly anyway. But this one is fun! Love it.

Sounds good to me! I do love Julia Quinn’s novels and Connie Brockway’s As You Desire is one of my favorite books. I’ll have to check this one out sometime.
