The Unidentified Redhead by Alice Clayton

Series: Readhead book 1

Author: Alice Clayton

The first in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Redhead series is a playful and erotic romance between an aspiring actress and Hollywood’s hottest new leading man.

When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actress, it’s a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best-friend agent, will that dream become a reality—or at thirty-three, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? And when an unexpected sizzling romance with Jack Hamilton, the entertainment industry’s newest “it” boy, threatens to shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life, how will that affect her career…and his?

Funny, borderline neurotic Grace is perfect in her imperfections, and the sexual chemistry between her and charming yet blissfully unaware Jack is off the charts. With laugh-out-loud dialogue and a super-steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the paparazzi has never been so fun.

This was the debut novel for Alice Clayton that was published in early 2010. For me this was about the time that I rediscovered my love of reading and I was so busy catching up on old favorites that Alice flew under my radar. Over the last few years her name kept coming up and the reviews were good… really good! The Book Reading Gals’ own Sarah read and reviewed the first book in Alice’s Cocktail series, Wallbanger, last year and “loved, loved, loved it”. She gave it an A+ rating!   Check out Sarah’s Review here!

Once again this is another author/series that I am going to KICK myself for waiting so long to read! Take my advice and don’t wait!

The book starts with GREAT song references: U2, Into the Mystic – Van Morrison, Strong Enough – Sheryl Crow, The Psychedelic Furs… I first fell in love with Alice for these references alone. Then you throw in the humor between Grace and Jack – nothing pleases me more than to laugh out loud while I read – and the chemistry, the “Sparks. Sparks. Sparks. Hot sparks. Flashing sparks. Lightning-bolt sparks. Hal Sparks? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph sparks.” Add to the humor, the steam factor and then a fantastic cast of supporting characters – Holly, Nick – and I was hooked.  I have book 2, The Redhead Revealed, ready and waiting to go!
