Vampires Never Cry Wolf by Sara Humphreys

cover57246-mediumTitle: Vampires Never Cry Wolf
Series: Dead In The City Book #3
Author: Sara Humphreys
Genre: Paranormal
Blurb: Vampires are nothing but trouble…
As far as beautiful vampire Sadie Pemberton is concerned, werewolves shouldn’t be sticking their noses into New York’s supernatural politics. They don’t know jack about running a city—not even that hot-as-sin new vampire-werewolf liaison who’s just arrived in town.

Werewolves are too sexy for their own good…
The last thing Killian Bane wanted was to end up in New York City playing nice with vampires. Unfortunately, he’s on a mission, and when he encounters the sexiest, most stubborn female vamp he’s ever met, he’s going to have to turn on a little of that wolfish charm…and Sadie’s going to learn a thing or two about what it means to have a wild side…

Thoughts: Even though this was the third book in this series, it was quite easy to just dive right into this one with no issues (though you may be tempted to go back and read the first two). Sadie runs her own nightclub for supernaturals – mostly vampires – though it has been frequently visited by a couple of werewolves….almost every night for months, in fact. And it’s driving her crazy. But they are paying customers, so what’s a vampire to do? Unfortunately, she’s just a little to attracted to one werewolf in particular…..and he happens to be the prince and heir to the throne, tasked with carrying on the bloodline of the pack – so how could fate be cruel enough to make him her bloodmate? Not when there is no way they could ever be together?
This was my first time reading anything by this particular author, and I doubt it will be the last. While I did enjoy the story and found it engaging enough, it never quite pushed it into the five star range for me. There were elements that were just a bit too predictable …. Still a good read though!

A “B” rating is a good rating. There are sooooo many paranormal authors and stories “out there” that it is a very competitive field/genre. And readers are fickle and reviews are subjective…so even authors that have been “on top” for a long while can falter once in awhile with ratings. I like Sara’s stories and I expect that this third one of the series will just as good as the first two. Thanks for the post! jdh2690@gmail.com
