Wanted by J. Kenner

wantedTitle: Wanted

Series: Most Wanted bk 1

Author: J. Kenner

Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance

He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight.

And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same.

Wanted is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Thoughts: Kenner is one of those authors I KNOW will always deliver a compelling story that keeps me glued to the pages until the last word. This is the case in her latest book Wanted.

I normally don’t like books told in the first person, but Kenner does a great job of sucking me into the story and keeping me there even though I’m only getting on point of view. have you noticed a theme here with my attitude towards first person pov? If you grab me from the beginning and suck me in, before long I no longer notice I’m not getting his pov, which is normally my favorite pov.

Angie has simply been putting on foot in front of the other for years. Hiding who she really is, and who she really wants. When her beloved uncle dies, she begins to spin out of control. Her boyfriend Kevin wants one thing for her, Evan wants something else, and she has no clue what she wants other than to finally have Evan.

For me this book was really about Angie’s journey to being who she was always supposed to be, and not who she’s become after something bad happened to her family when she was a teenager. We get to see all of her misgivings, second guessing, and struggles as she goes after what will make her happy. Not her parents, not Kevin, and not Evan. But her.

The love story between Angie and Evan was almost secondary for me. Though I have to tell you, I loved all the angst, and trouble they gave each other, because when they finally came together stripped down to who they really are with no masks it was awesome.

One of my favorite things in romances is the bromance that happens with the hero and his tight circle of friends, and Evan has an awesome one. I can’t wait to see what happens to each of them as they encounter the women that will change them, or rather make them want to change.
