  • Behind Her Eyes by A.L. Jackson
  • Saving Me by Molly McAdams
  • Fouling Out by Tiffany King
  • Beneath Your Layers by Christina Lee

Genre: New Adult

Today’s premiere New Adult authors combine their talents to tell four original stories from inside one house.

When four girls decide to live off campus together as juniors at a college in Michigan, they expect it to be their best year yet. Little do they know, it’s a year that will change the rest of their lives.

BEHIND HER EYES by A.L. Jackson
Unable to live down her ex-boyfriend’s deception, Misha is determined to avoid betrayal. When, the new guy next door, Darryn starts to get under her skin, her defenses start to crumble. But trusting Darryn seems impossible, especially if he’s not sure he can trust himself.

SAVING ME by Molly McAdams
On the outside, Indy is always ready for a party—but inside she’s breaking. Kier makes a weekly routine of saving the girl next door from herself on Saturday nights… but when will she be ready to remember him on Sunday morning?

FOULING OUT by Tiffany King
Working at a sports bar, Courtney has become a pro at sidestepping propositions from arrogant jocks—which makes her a more elusive catch for campus basketball star Dalton than he expected. But when he falls for the saucy waitress, Dalton will have to rethink his game plan to prove he’s not the jerk Courtney expects.

BENEATH YOUR LAYERS by Christina Lee
In order to ace her fashion internship, Chloe must team up with local college dropout and set builder, Blake—much to her chagrin. But after some “hands-on” experience, Chloe will have to ask herself if Blake factors into her carefully laid plans…

Thoughts: Four of my favorite New Adult authors in one book? Is there anything better? I didn’t think so. On their own each of these authors bring something awesome to the table, combined it’s that much better.

A.L. Jackson blew me away in her Closer to You series so I was excited to see what she would do with this prompt, and wow. Misha was betrayed by her boyfriend in a horrible way, a way that caused her a great amount of embarrassment and pain. When his housemates kick him out over what happened, his replacement makes her feel things she never wanted to feel again. Darryn has wanted Misha for a long time, but so long as she was with her boyfriend she never knew he existed. Now he’s living next door and taking advantage of the opportunity. I loved this story, for so many reasons but the number one was that Darryn through a series of actions was able to not only restore Misha’s trust in men, but also teach her how to really love someone.

Molly McAdams is one of my absolute favorite authors in this genre. I love the chances she takes with her stories and characters. Of all the girls in this anthology Indy is my absolute favorite. I could empathize with her so much. What I love about Molly is she writes these amazing heroes that love the heroine through their struggle and is a support to them, and Kier is exactly what Indy needs. When you find out why she does what does it will break your heart. This was my favorite story.

There is just something about childhood best friends reuniting in college and falling in love. Tiffany King gives us that with Courtney and Dalton. As they slowly rebuild their friendship their feelings shift. I loved watching these two fall in love, both of them had baggage and yet were a support for each other. This is a really good, sweet, sexy love story.

I was surprised by Christina Lee in a good way with her story. I’m used to her characters having massive amounts of baggage and while Chloe and Brock have baggage, because lets face who doesn’t it wasn’t anything major. I enjoyed how they went from enemies to friends to more as they worked together. Absolutely loved the ending.

Its very rare that I give an anthology an A rating but this is one that I loved every single page. Whether you’re a fan of New Adult or not you will like these stories.

Grade A
