Wolf In Her Soul by N.J. Walters

 Title: Wolf In Her Soul

Series:  Salvation Pack Book #8

Author:  N.J. Walters

GenreRomance, Paranormal

Blurb:  Detective Reece Gallagher has spent the last decade working as a cop in Chicago so he can search for her—the red-haired woman who haunts his dreams. He’s just about ready to give up and go home to Salvation, North Carolina, when he finally finds her. But she’s the assault victim on a case he’s working on, and there’s a full-blooded werewolf who wants her dead. He needs to keep her safe and convince her she’s his mate.

Hannah Burdette has a secret she’s never told anyone. But there is someone who knows who—or rather, what—she is. There’s a stalker after her who plans to rid the world of her “impure” blood. When the cop she meets turns out to be a werewolf and claims she doesn’t have to be alone anymore, she’s wary. But where better to hide from a bloodthirsty hunter than in the middle of North Carolina with the security of a pack surrounding her?

Favorite quotes: “That’s why I want time.  I want to mate with you, Hannah.”  He cupped her face in his big hands.  “I want you to understand that.  But I’ll wait months or years, whatever it takes.  Just promise you’ll stay.”

“She’s fierce.  When Jacque and Cole came upon her, she jumped up to defend you with nothing more than a stick.”

Thoughts: She was a half-breed, a wolf in her soul, but not in truth…and in that way, Wolf In Her Soul is aptly named.  Hannah is a half-breed who has a stalker on her hands and winds up in the path of cop, Reece Gallagher – who fans of the series will recognize as Sage’s twin brother and who now gets his own story and a mate of his own!  Both characters are strong and likeable, and the series just seems to get better and better with each book.  I am a fan of N.J Walters, and rather than a series slowly becoming stale as the books keep coming, it is quite the reverse.  All of them are great of course, and I recommend reading them in order due to interconnected characters, but I have enjoyed the last few books the most.  This one can be read as a standalone though since the author does a great job of balancing information that will put you in the loop if you are a new fan, but not overwhelming fans with monotonous information.

Another five star review for one of my favorites!
