He’ll make her an offer she can’t refuse…

Actress Tess McKenzie is performing in the Tenth Circle of Showbiz Hell-dinner theater. All she really wants is to start a theater of her own. Then Tess receives an offer she can’t refuse. She’ll get her funding…if she pretends to be the fiancée to her nemesis, Texan property tycoon Hunter Dade. If she’s going to pull this off, she’ll need all the luck she can get. Break a leg, indeed.

On the verge of a big business deal, Hunter needs to hire a fiancée. He hasn’t quite forgiven Tess for ruining his wedding, but when their chemistry goes from combative to straight-up lust, the “no sex” clause in their mutually beneficial arrangement is tested. Which is a serious problem, because if Tess isn’t careful, she’ll go from breaking a leg to breaking her heart…

My Thoughts:

3.5 stars! I liked it! This book was exactly what I needed! A yummy alpha cowboy with manners and a self-confidences that just oozes from him – in most aspects of his life. Hunter has worked to pull himself out of a dirt poor background and become the wealthy self-sufficient man that he is today. But he has never had the love of his mother the way that children should.

Tess’s mom is Hollywood royalty but that doesn’t mean that she had the love and affection that a child should have growing up.

These 2 come together in a whirlwind of arguments and undeniable chemistry and a bargain is struck that will give them both what they want if they can survive one weekend together and convince their host that they are madly in love!

This read started a little iffy to me… I wasn’t clicking with Tess at first but as you start to learn about her mom and the issues they have I felt my compassion for her rising. The misunderstanding as to why Tess encourages Jenna to call off the wedding was a little drawn out but it made the wrap-up at the end that much sweeter… this was an easy read and an easy way to spend a few hours on a rainy afternoon.
