One of our favorite holidays around here is Christmas. We love everything about it, the symbols, the meaning, how everyone seems to be nicer and prone to giving a little more. Here at our house we’ve certainly noticed an out pouring of the Christmas spirit, and I know Janon and Helen have felt this as well. This year my family has focused on the traditions we have as a family at this time of year.
One of those traditions is watching Christmas movies. We have a whole bunch of them we watch, but a couple of them are watched on specific days.
We love the Christmas Carol story and have our favorite versions of it, The Mickey’s Christmas Carol tops the list, as does Dr. Who Christmas Carol, followed by The Muppets Christmas Carol and the Jim Carey version.
When we decorate the tree we watch The Forgotten Carols. This is a play that in it’s 15th year was taped and can now be watched on dvd.
On Christmas Eve however we pull them all out and watch all of the ones we own, plus a few that are on netflix. Here are some clips from our families favorite Christmas movies.
The Muppets Christmas Carol ~ There’s Only One More Sleep Till Christmas
It’s not Christmas without watching It’s a Wonderful Life. I found this awesome tribute to the movie.
In my house we watch both versions of Miracle on 34th Street. This scene is from the 1994 version and is one of my personal favorite.
My kids insisted I include this clip, what is better than Josh Groban singing Believe the theme song from the Polar Express.
These next few clips are from our families favorite Christmas movie, The Forgotten Carols.
Merry Christmas. Hope everyonehad a good one. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Always good being with the family.
