Thoughts:
I haven’t read the other books in the series but with this standalone it was not necessary. This author does a great job of filling in the back history on the brothers involved in the Lodge-Freeze household without being repetitive. While filling in the history between Dawn and Hawk at the same time.
I have read a lot of alpha males and Hawk will be put right up there at the top of the list as keepers/rereads for sure!
Quote: “Most guys don’t like that much wildness.”… “I do. Don’t want to tame it. Don’t even want to mellow it. I just want to possess it and keep it close, wrap myself in it and keep it safe.” Seriously. How was she supposed to protect herself from something like that?

Love The Lady Elks Secret Archives words of wisdom before each chapter!! And OMG. Mrs. Hudson and Mrs. Poppins are hilarious in their attempts to try and help Dawn land Hawk!
The interaction between all of the men was excellent to read! They were friends and brothers, big older protective brothers, a sheriff and an attorney, but above all else they are family and they will always have each others back!! You have to respect Hawk for not wanting the Lodge-Freeze brothers to jeopardize themselves because they have families to think of too but when he needed them most they overrode his caution and took care of business. Alpha male style!!
