The thing with summer break is you actually forget what the dates are…so this is a few days late.
As an avid reader I can tell you when I read my very first non-hetero sex scene. I was in my late teens and I had picked up Judith Krantz book Dazzle. Jazz the heroine does a little exploring with an older woman and let me tell you it rocked my world.
It wasn’t until more than 20 years later when @carlyphillips told me that I had to read @lauren.dane book Laid Bare that I read something that would change me again.
Since then I’ve read so many books where the heroes and heroines were LGTBQ+ some I’ve liked, some I haven’t, and some I have absolutely loved and they are books I read again and again.
Here are just a few.
Pretty much anything by @lauren.dane I honestly went back and forth on the book to show you because while I love Erin, Todd and Ben in Laid Bare, Vincenz, Julian and Hannah from Captivated are my favorite couple. But it was Laid Bare that had me expanding my horizons.
Him by @sarina.bowen & @ellekennedy33 is one of my all-time friends to lovers stories.
Taken by @hkdimon is really my happy place. Eli is one of the most perfectly damaged heroes I’ve ever read.
I love all of @charliecochet @annabeth_albert books. I picked my favorites from their books but really all of their books are fantastic.
The Unbreakable Bonds series by @jocelynndrake & @rindaelliott is all sorts of angsty and heart wrenching and delicious with way to many references to duct tape but so worth the read.
So these are just a few of my favorite LGBTQ+ stories and authors who write them.
