RomCon Tuesday Kickoff

As most of you know we here at The Book Reading Gals are big supporters of RomCon, which is quickly coming up once again June 22-24, and love to challenge ourselves and you each year.  Well this year is no different and we are going one step above that and will be giving away 1 general admission ticket to the person who reads the most books written by the attending authors.  One of the things we also like to do is spotlight those authors, which gives us all a chance to get to know them a bit better, so from here to June, Tuesdays will be dedicated to RomCon.   We value your opinions, so if you have read something from the spotlighted authors please let us know, give suggestions on what might be a good book to read for the challenge, or if you have not read them would you be willing to give them a try.

Here is the list of authors that have signed up so far.  As you can tell we have a lot of reading to do, so everyone start getting out those electronic devices, start hitting the bookstores, or pick up those library cards, the journey has begun.

Right now I’m reading a 2012 RomCon author. Jennifer Zane – and the book is Gnome on the Range. So far I’m LOVING it!!!!! It’s funny, cute and it has a hunky fireman as the heroine’s neighbor. The heroine lives in a small Montana town and she works at the local “Adult Toy Shop”.

I’ve read almost all of Julia Quinn’s books and enjoyed them. Many readers feel her Bridgerton series was the pinnacle of her career and have complained about her more recent books. I, however, still enjoy reading a Julia Quinn romance. Her books have solid plots, interesting characters and humor. If I were to recommend only two of her books to get started, I’d pick When He Was Wicked or The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheevers.

Although I’m not a big fan of Elizabeth Hoyt, I did read her last novel, Scandalous Desires, and it was good. I also enjoyed Jill Shalvis’ veterinarian books, Animal Magnetism and Animal Attraction. Since the series involves a veterinarian office, there’s lots of cute animals. Her last book, Head Over Heels was part of a series. I didn’t read the first two books and it wasn’t a problem.

That is a great list, and a great prize! But unless you also add plain tickets, don’t enter me in the contest!

The authors I have read are:

    Elizabeth Hoyt
    Julia Quinn
    Kat Martin
    Teresa Medeiros
    Elizabeth Boyle
    Jade Lee
    Melissa Mayhue

And some others are still unread but on my shelves:
    Alexandra Ivy
    Jill Shalvis
    Delilah Marvelle
    Lizzie T. Leaf
    Pamela Morsi

I wish you all lots of fun!

Where do we post the links for our reviews? How do we keep up with which authors we’ve read.

    Thanks.
