Set at a boys’ boarding school in New England during the early years of World War II, A Separate Peace is a harrowing and luminous parable of the dark side of adolescence. Gene is a lonely, introverted intellectual. Phineas is a handsome, taunting, daredevil athlete. What happens between the two friends one summer, like the war itself, banishes the innocence of these boys and their world.
REVIEW: I hard a time with this book. I don’t know if it was because I was listening to it or not. I barely got through chapter one before I had to turn it off and had no desire to finish listening to it. I normally enjoy books like this however this one just didn’t do it for me.
This sounds interesting, but I think I will go with your lower rating and not add it to my tbr list. Too many there to add not so great books. 🙂
