Excellent Cheese & Crab Appetizer Dip
8 oz. cream cheese
1 jar “Old English” cheese spread
7.5 oz. crab meat
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1/2 t. Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 t. Garlic Salt
1/4 t. Cayenne Pepper
Sourdough round (cut up into bite-sized pieces for dipping)
Melt cream cheese and cheese spread together in a double boiler or microwave until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and stir until blended. Keep warm in fondue pot and dip with bread. (Cayenne pepper can we increased or decreased to taste.)
Note: I get the real crab meat from Costco (it comes in a jar and is fantastic). You could substitute fake crab, however. I’ve done that before when I couldn’t find the real stuff. Also, I usually double this recipe because I have a large family. Boudin’s Sourdough (if you can get it–I’m lucky that it’s readily available here close to San Francisco) is delicious with it, but you can’t go wrong.
I love crab! My friend makes a similar recipe and it IS tasty.
This sounds good and really easy. I could make a meal out of appetizers alone. 😉
I am really enjoying these recipes! Thanks for another good sound one.
