Guild Hunter bk 1
Nalini Singh
There are some authors that do not know how to write a bad book. They have this talent to consistently put out amazing books that keep you engrossed from the very beginning of the story. Nalini is that kind of author. I have been reading her ever since Caressed by Ice came out, and have devoured every single one of her books and passed them along to others (always with the understanding that I would be getting my books back). Some how I never managed to pick up this book, that is until July when I finally got a copy.
The book than was put away in the Nalini section of my bookcase and not in the tbr pile where it was suppose to go. The other day while I was looking for a different book I saw this one and realized that I hadn’t read it, so I pulled it and put it on the top of my tbr pile.
I loved this book, it kept me engaged and clueless to everything around my from the time I started it till I closed the book (as I was on a road trip with in-laws they thought it was funny to kept trying to interrupt my reading)
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she’s the best—but she doesn’t know if she’s good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, only one thing is clear—failure is not an option…even if the task is impossible.
Because this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other…and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn’t destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break…
I loved everything about Elena and Raphael, both together and individually. Elena doesn’t believe in holding her punches and she doesn’t trust easily, and she has created her own family because her family wants nothing to do with her. Raphael on the other hand is an archangel one of the most powerful archangels in existence. So when these two clash it makes for very good reading.
This book is very different from her PSY/Changling series but it is just as good. If you are looking for something different than you don’t need to look any further than this book.
Grade: A
I could not agree more! I love Nalini’s books, both the Psy/Changeling series and the Guild Hunter series, and am constantly re-reading them. I can’t wait for November, when Play of Passion, the latest Psy/Changeling book comes out!
Erin, having had a sneak peak of Play of Passion I can tell you that you will LOVE it!
I am so jealous!! Hurry up November!
