Today we thought we’d change it up a bit and post the top five books we think all romance readers need to have, and if you are looking for something to read this week-end maybe you’ll pick one of these up. I do have to say that as soon as I told this to all of our reviewers Janon sent me her list in less than a minute, and here I thought I was good. All the books are linked to their GR page. I do have to say I think we manage to hit all the different genres in each of our lists.

What are the top 5 books you recommend romance readers to have?
I”ve read only three books from this list! I have everything by Julie Garwood, but have yet to read them in English.
I think Bertrice Small – Skye O’Malley is my favourite historical romance of all time. Closely followed by Barbara Bickmore – The moon below. Even my mother and sisters liked it when I made them read it! I read that one in Dutch every year at least once.
Christine Feehan blew me away with Water Bound. Annette Blair – Bedeviled Angel is dealing with some heavy issues in an awesome and passionate way. I enjoy all her books, but this one is special. For the rest it is impossible to pick a single book by all the other authors whose work I love.
I have to agree with you on Water Bound I loved that book.
Hm. I go older school, I think.
1- A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught
2- Sea Swept by Nora Roberts
3- Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
4- Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard
5- Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
Sea Swept is one of my all time favorite Nora books…actually that whole series. It came during the time we were adopting our sons from foster care. Slave to Sensation is also a must read, but Judd is my favorite. I haven’t read the others though.
I haven’t read any of them! I have read some others in Julia Quinn’s series & Carolyn Brown’s series. I guess I’d better add to my list of TBR!
The Duke and I is probably Julia Quinn’s best book EVER!
OK, you convinced me!
1. A Summer of Two Wishes – Julia London
2. Sarah’s Child – Linda Howard
3. Three Wishes – Barbara Delinsky
4. Summer in Sonoma – Robyn Carr
5. The Pregnancy Test – Erin McCarthy
I cannot do just 5, sorry:
6. The Dream series & Chesapeake Bay series by Nora Roberts
7. Toni Blake – The Red Diary
8. Susan Mallery’s Buchanan Saga (the love the redemption – she does it best) Delicious, Tempting, Sizzling, Irresistible – not necessarily in series order.
9. SEP – Dream a Little Dream
10. A Bend in the Road – Debbie Macomber
11. Carolyn Brown’s “Bar series” – I Love this Bar, etc AND her Spikes and Spurs Series – Love Drunk Cowboy, etc (I really do love ALL her books)
Don’t want you to kick me off, so I will stop now.
