Blurb: What happens when a single mother is forced to live with a grumpy, ailing football star? The smolder turns red hot of course.

Amanda Shaw has pulled it together. It’s taken a couple of years, a boatload of hard work, and a ton of self-discipline, but she finally has her problems in a headlock. Her yoga studio in the city has become so successful she’s opening one near the beach, and her relationship with her ten year old son is improving every day. The last thing she needs is a monkey wrench thrown into her smoothly running life.

Grant Hendricks is one big monkey wrench. The four time Defensive Player of the Year, three time NFL sack leader, and all around football god has officially hit rock bottom. A devastating back injury means he may have to retire and that scares him more than doctors telling him the next hit could leave him paralyzed. All he needs is a quiet place to think and his teammate’s beach house sounds like just the place. Problem is, the woman already living there.

Favorite quote(s): “I like being around you.  I like everything about you…everything.  This is the best summer I have ever had,” he says so softly it’s barely above a whisper.  “You’re the best time I’ve ever had.”

“I’ll give it to you, baby.  I’ll give you everything you want just stay with me.”

Thoughts: It’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed a book that I rated so highly – A++!  I was excited and thrilled when I read this – because I knew I found a great new author!!  P. Dangelico is simply AMAZING!  I had never read a book by her before…more than likely because it was listed as New Adult on Netgalley and that is typically not one of my favorite genres.  Which is probably why I dragged my feet to start it and put off reviewing it for a bit.  Something about this book just appealed to me though and I requested it anyway – and I have never been more pleasantly surprised.  No joke, after this book I literally bought anything else by P. Dangelico that I could get my hands (or kindle!) on!  She has a particular writing style that is just so appealing, a flair with words and one-liners that makes you laugh, and a sweet yet current and modern way of writing romance that makes your heart feel light-hearted and bursting with emotion at the same time.  I honestly can’t rave enough but this author – believe me, she is a one-click author for sure.  I’m not even reading the blurb anymore before I buy!  She’s just…that…good.  Period.

Now, about the book – Bulldozer is very much a slow burn romance, one that just keeps building and building before things come to a head.  I love Dangelico’s characters, as well, very down to earth and say what they want to say….usually in a blunt, hilarious fashion.  Amanda is not just frank with others, either, but with herself….she’s not blind to her behaviors in the past, she accepts it, and she’s doing her best to make herself a better person.  She knows her flaws, her weaknesses, and she overcomes it…but also knows that her struggles don’t stop there….it is a continuous process.  The attraction between Amanda and Grant is immediate, but sort of in the background due to some past history.  As readers, we get to see the slow evolution of their relationship which makes it that much sweeter.  The fact that Amanda has a child and we see the dynamics of his relationships to makes it even more poignant.

I have to say this is the most enjoyable book I have read in a good long time!
