Driven by K. Bromberg

drivenTitle: Driven

Series: Driven series bk 1

Author: K. Bromberg

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Well I jumped on the Driven/Colton bandwagon… and there are 3 things I have to say:

– y’all are darn lucky I knew this was a cliffhanger or someone would have to get hurt…
– I will officially stop saying that I am not a ‘serial’ series liker/reader because after Fifty Shades, The Crossfire Series, Audrey Carlan’s Trinity Trilogy and many others that are too numerous to list – I mayyyyy have been convinced to change my mind…
– I cannot remember the last time that I read a book so quickly and at every opportunity I could find… we’re talking reading from my iPhone at stoplights people… that 327 pages seriously felt like 100 and I have already started Fueled (had to make myself stop and write this review before the 2 books ran together in my head)

Here are my thoughts:
Colton and Rylee are 2 people who have let their self-proclaimed ‘baggage’ dictate their lives. Both have a generosity of time and self, Rylee shows hers through her job and her ‘kids’ and Colton through CD Enterprises and the good works they do. Neither has much experience in the relationship arena. Rylee suffered a great loss in the one true relationship that she’s ever had and has grieved for 2 years. The feelings that Colton inspires in her just make the grief more pronounced and have added a layer of guilt to deal with as well. Colton’s demons are more hidden and we get hints and glimpses as to what they may be but through most of this book he is a mystery… all we know for sure is his ‘arrangements’ are mutually beneficial to him and whoever the blonde flavor-of-the-moment is and when they are over he moves onto the next.

Before this series is finished I want Rylee to heal Colton and take all the bad stuff away. And I want Colton to bring the light back into Rylee’s life and give her all the hot and steamy against the wall lovin’ that K. Bromberg can fit in! I have a feeling from the reviews and ranting and raving that I have read that is exactly what we will get. But that’s NOT what happened in Driven… well not the first 2 things anyway… Kristy wrote a book that I could not put down and created 2 characters with a chemistry that made my heart beat faster and even made me have to fan myself a few times. I look forward to their adventure and also getting to know the characters that get their own stories in books 5 and 6.
