Kiss of Surrender by Sandra Hill

Title: Kiss of Surrender

Series: Deadly Angels bk 2

Author: Sandra Hill

Genre: Paranormal

It’s not easy being a Vampire Angel

No one knows that better than Trond Sigurdsson. In the centuries since he last went out drinking and wenching with his Viking buds, Trond has been a gladiator, a cowboy, a ditch digger…even a sheik. But now he’s the baddest of them all: a kick-butt Navy SEAL kicking butts of terrorist immortals with the help of his hotter-than-Hades female partner, police officer-turned-Special Forces operative Nicole Tasso—whom Trond dearly hopes to “partner” with very shortly in a whole different way.

It’s not easy being a Vangel’s lover

The “cop” part of Nicole tells her there’s something bizarre about her gorgeous godlike teammate. But her “all-woman” side can’t help wondering how great it would be to have a virile Viking in her bed. Trond has secrets galore, but Nicole feels certain she can dig them out—and really get to the heart of this powerful, unnerving stranger whom she may be risking her soul to love.

Sandra Hill is an author who always delivers for me. Her books are full of sarcasm and humor and always make me laugh out loud.

The premise of this series is one that is unique which makes it one of the reason’s I like it so much.

Trond is one of those characters that you have to love because he is so determined to what he needs to but to do it his way and to have fun along the way. He is also naturally lazy ( he is guilty of the sin of sloth), so the fact he is in BUD/s school makes for a lot of hilarity as he tries to get out of a lot of the exercises.

Nicole is a character that I have to admit took me until half way through the book to like. It wasn’t until they were out on their mission that came to like her. I understand the need to break away from family and the like but the way she went about it I didn’t like and I felt made her a weaker heroine. I also didn’t like how she was always certain that she was right and she didn’t care about how her accusations would impact other people.

This book really came around for me when Nicole is forced to see Trond in a new light and she let loose the giant stick she had up her ass.

If it wasn’t for Trond and the other SEAL’s (yes its the SEAL’s from her SEAL’s and Viking time travel series) I wouldn’t have finished reading the book. Their antics make it worth reading.

I am sorry, but this really does not appeal to me. The cover is not helping either. But I am really glad you do enjoy the books.
