OH MAN!! this installment was a page turner!! I could not put it down, finished it in record time – up until almost 3am reading!
Prior to this book McKenna was a mystery, a ghost, a lethal weapon to LCR. We saw her in snippets in book 5. She worked alone and came in and helped when she was needed. The things that she has to do to ensure a victims safety and keep her cover were the ultimate sacrifice. I was thrilled to see that she would get her own book!! And oh man what a book it is! Her backstory is a gut wrenching tale that no person should have to live through but that she survived it and has used those experiences to help others is a testament to her strength and courage. Lucas Kane is uber wealthy and runs his family business with a firm yet compassionate hand. But Lucas has secrets. Secrets that make him a lethal weapon in his own right and he has set his eye on McKenna.
Christy Reece gave me just enough of my past favorites, Noah and Samara (book 2), while showing the fun and brotherly side of a future hero, Dylan Savage (book 8). The twist at the end had me in tears and reinforced my love for the ultimate HEA! Last Chance Rescue continues to be an all time favorite series of mine – Christy Reece can WRITE a book and if you haven’t discovered her yet you are definitely missing out!
