Let Me Be the One by Bella Andre

Title: Let Me Be the One

Series: Sullivan’s bk 6

Author: Bella Andre

Genre: Contemporary

When Vicki Bennett saved Ryan Sullivan’s life as a teenager, it was the beginning of a close friendship that never wavered despite her failed marriage to someone else and Ryan’s well-earned reputation as a ladies man. So when she suddenly needs a pretend boyfriend to protect herself and her career from a powerful man’s advances, he is the only person she can imagine asking.

Ryan will do anything to protect Vicki from harm, but when their “fake” kisses and caresses lead to an incredibly sensual night that neither of them can resist, will he have made the biggest mistake of all by irreparably jeopardizing their friendship? Or is it possible that what they’ve both been looking for has been right there the whole time…and the perfect combination of wicked and sweet, friendship and love, is finally within reach?

I can’t remember who told me to read Bella Andre, it might have been someone on Twitter, but whoever it was I have a say a HUGE thank you. She has fast become one of my favorite contemporary authors.

One of the trops I absolutely love in romance is that of family. The importance of family, and how close family can be. This is probably because I don’t come from a close family, so I love it when I can read about families who are very close.

Ryan hasn’t really made an appearance in the other Sullivan books. Oh we knew he was there just not a lot about him. So I really happy to see that this book was his, and that we would get to know him. For all the tabloid stuff about him, he is really a simple person. And he has been in love with the same person ever since he was a teenager. When she married he figured that his chance was over and got on with his life. That is until he gets a text from her asking for help.

I love how real and genuine Ryan was in his bid to help Vicki, even to the point where he doesn’t give into what he has always felt for her, until she lets him know it’s okay.

Vicki is one of those characters I had a really hard time getting. I mean here she has this really great successful, sexy guy drop everything and run to her side after years of not seeing him. I get that she had self-esteem issues and didn’t want to ruin her friendship with Ryan.

Overall this is really good book. We get to see more of the Sullivan’s which I love, Ryan and Vicki figure out that they have been in love with each other since they were teens and work everything out. Oh and guess whose book is next?

SMITH..

Yes you read that right we are FINALLY going to be getting Smith’s story, and I have a feeling its gonna be a good one.
